The Global Banking & Markets (GB&M) Credit Analysis Unit(CAU) team works closely with Relationship Managers (RMs) to help them prepare Credit Proposals for all GB&M borrowing names across the Funds, FIG and Corporate sectors. By closely managing the annual review work load and encouraging deep collaboration between CAU, RMs and Credit Risk Approvers. CAU maintains a flexible operating model ensuring new business transactions are consistently prioritized effectively to exploit revenue generating activities, and credit annual renewals are serviced in a quality and timely manner. Associate CAU will also proactively support Relationship Managers to add value for GB’ business expansion plan.

Report to: Team Lead of Credit Analyst Unit (GB)

·  Establishing high standards for all credit submissions and its subsequent reviews through critical analysis of key business drivers, industry exposure & dynamics, macroeconomic conditions & compliance to guidelines. The financial solution sought has to be balanced with the Bank’s credit and risk criteria.
·  Actively manage and constantly review credit processes to support new business initiatives, products and guidelines by working closely with various stakeholders to ensure proper execution and optimum level of productivity measured by agreed timelines and SLA/ KPIs
·  Update the credit process, where applicable, with best practices acquired from other HSBC sites.
·  Ensure effective implementation, monitoring and reporting of statutory compliances, audit recommendation, internal guidelines and procedures are strictly adhered to.
·  Pro-actively identifying deterioration in borrowers’ financial condition and putting in place prompt corrective actions
·  Adhere to all guidelines and procedures of the Bank relating to credit and operational risk.
·  Identifying and escalating possible loss resulting from operational risks.

Information

·  Educated to the university or above level.
·  Experiences in corporate banking with credit risk knowledge is a plus.
·  Good corporate lending experience with good credit and financial analytical skills.
·  Good knowledge of banking products and regulatory policies.
·  Be change oriented and able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines.
·  Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
·  Able to understand and consolidate diverse and complex business information and identify / mitigate risk issues.
·  Fluent written and spoken English
