Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, compliance, regulatory, market and reputational risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of Assistance Manager AML Investigations

Your main responsibilities will include:

· Support AML Investigation Managers with oversight, coordination and execution of investigations relating to Unusual Activity Reports, Transaction Monitoring and other referral types, ensuring investigations are completed within agreed SLAs and in accordance External Investigative Reporting (EIR) procedures.
· Lead a high performing team conducting day-to-day operations of on-shore AML Investigations, coordinate resources through daily huddles and team meetings to maximise productivity.
· Undertake Manager Review of completed cases and as required, make a decision as to whether or not a Suspicious Matter Reports should be filed.
· Provide feedback to AML Investigators regarding the quality of case work performed while ensuring adherence to EIR procedures.
· Escalate any potentially significant risk issues found during the course of an investigation to the Head of EIR and other relevant FCR and Line of Business stakeholders.
· Undertake analysis to assist with the preparation of Management Information (MI) and identification of potential financial crime threats to HSBC.
· Oversee the execution of internal controls to ensure compliance with HSBC procedures relating to client exits, KYC and Enhanced Due Diligence.
· Collaborate with other members of staff across Financial Crime Threat Mitigation in support of the joint execution of both Major Cases and Fraud Investigations.
· Draft procedures and execute projects aimed at embedding procedures to ensure sustainability of controls and ongoing adherence to Group-wide policies.
· Assist with maturing an ongoing feedback loop to the line of business to improve knowledge, awareness and reporting of financial crime risks to EIR for investigation.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role, you will need:

·  Experience in AML and fraud investigations preferred. Previous exposure to AML Compliance / Investigations or a law enforcement background an advantage.
·  Basic knowledge of proceeds of crime legislation, associated AML regulation and guidance and SMR filing processes. ACAMS/ICA Diploma preferred.
·  Good working knowledge of AML within the financial services industry.
·  Proven project management and analytical skills, together with ability to support decisions with sound commercial reasoning.
·  Knowledge of e-discovery, open source resource research and advanced excel / data visualisation skills preferred.
·  Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues.
·  Numerate, evidence based analytical skills and an ability to draft succinct, well-rounded investigative reports.
