The Tax Analyst (f/m) manages audits and preparation of tax returns by tax authorities and VAT filings.  Supports wider EMEA tax team on other matters.

Responsibilities:

·  Acts as liaison between external advisor and COE on tax auditor request.  Manage the flow of information between the two parties.
·  Reviews data produced by COE to ensure it can be understood by the tax auditor before passing the data to external advisor.
·  Liaises with PwC on signing off the quarterly tax provisioning.
·  Act as liaison between PwC and German controllership on the preparation of the tax return.  Manage the flow of information between the two parties.
·  Maintain the cash tax forecast for Germany and Austria.
·  Raise SOW and POs for engagement with external advisor.
·  Support other EMEA tax team tasks as the need arises.
·  Responsibility for VAT compliance and consulting in Germany supporting HPE's VAT practice in EMEA.
·  Providing guidance to country finance personnel to ensure compliance with VAT.
·  Partnering/liaising  with other stakeholders e.g. Customs, Sales Operations to the best effect.
·  Managing an effective relationship with, and responding to, the German Tax Authorities.
·  Interacting and managing relationship with external advisers
·  Keeping up to date with VAT legislation, practice and developments within Germany and EU.
·  Be a key participant within the worldwide HPE Transaction Tax team identifying, analyzing and implementing the best solutions for the company as a whole.
·  Translate documents and letters from English to German and vice versa, if necessary.
·  Establish and/or maintain robust compliance procedures and leading tax compliance projects.

Education and Experience Required:

·  First-level university degree or equivalent experience.
·  Typically 2+ years of related experience in tax, finance or accounting.

Knowledge and Skills:

·  Knowledge of professional accounting and financial reporting systems.
·  Developed financial and business acumen.
·  Tax advisor certificate (successful "Steuerberaterprüfung")
·  Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
· 
Business fluent in German and English language.
