About the Public Sector Account Project Manager

HPE Pointnext is currently seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates r a Public Sector Account Project Manager to be located anywhere in the US with access to a major airport. No relocation assistance available.

Position is expected to include 30% domestic overnight travel but is subject to change due to the needs of the business.

As the Public Sector Customer Project Manager (PM), you will support dynamic customers in a HPE High Performance Computing environment. The successful candidate will function as the Operational focal point between client and the Project management Office (PMO) to include installation, resource schedules, and maintenance support issues with Customer Service Manager (CSM). You will participate in regular face-to-face client service delivery meetings to review customer account issues, address concerns, and discuss process improvement initiatives are in scope.

You must have the ability to handle day-to-day operations oversight, as well as to independently drive and own all project elevations and escalations to completion.

You will develop documented processes and review within the PMO for efficiencies for compliance to this and additional projects regarding installations, software entitlements, etc., and will also work with the Database Technical consultants within the PMO to prepare trending /analysis for customer quarterly review meetings.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on the products we deliver and support, while gaining experience as a Public Sector Account Project Manager, which can lead to future careers within HPE.

Responsibilities

As the Public Sector Account Project Manager, you will:

·  support Public Sector projects including handling day-to-day operations oversight
·  independently drive and own all project elevations/escalations to completion
·  participate in regular face-to-face client Service Delivery meetings to review customer account issues, address concerns, and discuss process improvement initiatives which are in scope
·  manage stakeholder relationships, project support team members, and third party vendors to ensure scope and customer satisfaction levels are met
·  monitor performance and trends via reporting
·  perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Position is expected to include 30% domestic overnight travel so ability and willingness to travel to that extent is required.

Education and Experience Required

·  Bachelor’s degree, or compensating experience (see below)
·  5+ years’ experience in project management or in like roles/businesses
·  Without Bachelor’s, an additional 2 years relevant experience for a total of 7+ years
·  PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required

Knowledge and Skills Required

·  Demonstrates the basic knowledge of key operational policies, processes, and methodologies applicable to project management
·  Understands project management methods
·  Strong customer satisfaction skills
·  Ability to multi-task
·  Strong verbal and written communication skills; presentation skills a plus
·  Ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team environment
·  High Performance Computing / Infrastructure experience ideal
·  ITIL certification a plus
·  Knowledge of HPE and SGi compute equipment preferred but not required
·  3PAR/MSA knowledge a plus but not required
·  Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, forecasting / budgeting
