The Technology Consultant role:

·  HPE Technology Consultants work closely with our clients to understand their business needs and design and deliver innovative HPE and partner technology solutions. 
·  Contribute to HPE growth by generating revenue through chargeable engagements, or by identifying new business opportunities and providing technical input into deal proposals.
·  Provide Technical Network consulting, implementation and support to a range of Customers and projects.
·  Work with Clients in a trusted advisor capacity and will be responsible for creating and maintaining effective Customer relationships.
·  Demonstrate expertise with leading edge technologies, helping to frame HPE solutions around strategies developed with our Clients.
·  Sharing knowledge and experience through formal and informal knowledge management initiatives both with Customers and internally within HPE.
·  Throughout these activities, Consultants will have the ability to actively develop HPE's solution portfolio through experiences gained when working with Customers.
·  Team: The Technology Consultant will work within a team of Consultants aligned to similar solution areas but on disparate projects and locations.
·  Willingness to travel throughout Ireland and occasionally UK. Ireland travel up to 75% of the time

About the candidate

·  Degree level education is a bonus but not essential
·  Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Consultancy and delivery of Professional Services
·  Willingness to travel: UK based travel up to 75% of the time

Required:

·  Candidates should have both broad and deep experience-based knowledge of relevant technologies, architectures and methodologies, gained through genuine involvement in the implementation of large scale, complex, and multi-technology transformational solutions.
·  Candidates should have significant experience of working in an IT consulting & implementation environment and be expected to develop business justification, to architect, design and deliver enterprise scale resilient & redundant network (LAN/Wireless) infrastructures for application of (but not limited to) mobile workforce environments.
·  Candidates should have an excellent practical working knowledge of the following technologies:
·  Aruba Wireless platform
·  AirWave and ClearPass applications
·  Network Switching
·  LAN and wireless network analysis tools
·  Wireless surveying and RF design principles
·  Wireless discovery and analysis
·  MDM
·  Location Services and Network Management
·  Appreciation of deployed wireless in Enterprise, Private & Public sector, LPV (Large Public Venue) and commercial/retail.
·  Candidates should be able to explain the complexities and implications that arise from different design options and implementation methods, articulate the business benefits to the customer and be able to prioritise these benefits amidst other decisions and options facing our clients.
·  Candidate should be able to communicate to both HPE and Customer stakeholders, effectively in a clear and concise manner appropriate for the audience.
·  Candidates should be self-driven and organised, capable of working within teams as well as being motivated to work in isolation on occasion, with minimum direct support.
·  Written communication is also important, as is demonstrating proficiency in consultative, technical workshop, presentation and facilitation skills.

Preferred:

·  Candidates should hold or be working towards networking and wireless certification (Switching & Wireless)
·  An understanding of competitive wireless offerings is also highly valuable.
·  Knowledge of the following related technologies will also be useful:
·  Voice & Video, Unified Communications
·  Network optmization/packet shapers and WAN acceleration
·  Load balancers, security & authentication
·  Experience of Project Management Tools and Methodologies would be useful
·  Experience supporting customer engagements in a presales capacity..
