As part of the Software Defined and Cloud Group’s Chief Design Office at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, you will be making our user experience design vision a reality.  You will be a developer behind the open source Grommet project ( http://grommet.io ), Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s most successful open source project.  With nearly 300,000 downloads, and over 100 contributors, Grommet continues to be adopted as one of the premier ReactJS frameworks both within HPE and in the open source community. 

The Grommet team is a small, agile, and high-caliber team with visibility at the highest levels of HPE. The broader team is responsible for the design of HPE OneSphere, HPE OneView, and other HPE initiatives.  If you have a proven sense of modern design and passion for developing rich, interactive web applications based on ReactJS, this is the opportunity for you!  You will consult and collaborate with product designers, product managers, engineers, the brand team, and 3rd party agencies to deliver modern experiences.

In addition, you’ll be participating in research, planning, and developing web components to meet project needs that align to the theme and application design for the mutual benefit of both users and the business. 

Responsibilities

·  Contribute to implementation by enhancing existing components, resolving issues, augmenting the documentation, and creating new example applications.
·  Engage with the Grommet community and act as a Grommet evangelist via Slack channels

Knowledge & Skills

·  Passionate about delivering world-class user experiences
·  Demonstrated competence with ReactJS, JavaScript, and HTML5 skills
·  Experience with Sass & CSS3 and responsive component design
·  Experience in developing components that meet the WC3 Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
·  Experience with CI/CD tools like Heroku, AWS, Travis, and/or David-DM
·  Proficient with GitHub and the contributor workflow
·  Comfortable working in a self-managing team of experts
·  Operates under the highest of self-imposed standards in fit and finish
·  Great collaboration skills with willingness engage with peers within and outside HPE
·  Embodies a spirit of collaboration with a positive and approachable personality
·  Proven track record of solving complex problems with creativity and simplicity

Education

·  Bachelors’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
