Role Summary/Purpose

The TDI - Lead Sourcing Specialist will:
·  Support / develop supplier selection road map & strategy for Aviation NPI (New Product Introduction) commodities
·  Identify, select, develop & qualify suppliers
·  Additionally, perform price negotiations for long term contracts & execute purchasing activities for existing industrial supply base to meet organization’s priorities
·  Requires developed & strong foundation of function skills & knowledge of relevant purchasing & sourcing concepts
Essential Responsibilities

In addition, as the TDI - Lead Sourcing Specialist, you will:

·  Define supplier strategy including supplier management and optimization of suppliers

·  Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers

·  Actively participate in supplier performance reviews

·  Advises functional managers regarding projects, processes and procedures and contributes to projects as a team member or leads small
projects

·  Responsible for owning product commodities and negotiate terms and conditions & transmit information to procurement

·  Actively participate in or lead project tollgate / project operations reviews and provide regular updates to the team

·  Communicate potential risks to the team

·  Ability to meet project deadlines for timely execution of new products

·  Must follow company policies / guidelines while working with suppliers & promptly take actions to meet business needs

·  Includes commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc.
·  This also includes purchasing
activities and balancing both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects

·  Works together with site leadership team on various projects

·  Specifies needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done

·  Works with cross-functional teams in manufacturing environment to meet specific project objectives
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing)

·  Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commodity Management / Sourcing

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
