Role Summary/Purpose

The System Integration and Reliability Engineer will be a part of the Hub Subsystem Team in the Wind Engineering Organization. The role offers system integration and system reliability ownership focusing within the hub subsystem.

Essential Responsibilities

As the System Integration and Reliability Engineer, you will:

·  Lead system integration and system reliability projects pertaining to new products, technology, processes and/or field issues with a heavy focus on quality, and reliability
·  Help to coordinate digital transition to wind turbine component design  
·  Perform system integration and reliability analysis related to hub sub-system design supported by validation of reliability assumptions
·  Collaborate with cross functional teams for managing the product reliability life cycle which may also include travel as required
·  Execute tasks within a cross-functional teams, including but not limited to other sub-system engineers, quality, manufacturing, sourcing, planning, field support, and test labs
·  Translate system-level reliability requirements into sub-system definition for wind turbine hub components, including structures, bearings, electrical pitch system, and printed circuit board assemblies
·  Perform trade-off studies to optimize availability and reliability for hub electrical and mechanical components
·  Drive Design for Reliability process into hub subsystem and component design
·  Own “bottoms-up” reliability calculation for all hub components and translate into overall hub hub-system reliability
·  Define subsystem and component level testing requirements to validate component and subsystem design-for-reliability assumptions
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
·  Minimum of 4 years of general component design experience  
·  Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical component design

·  Knowledge of system reliability calculation  
·  Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
·  Wind Turbine system integration, design for reliability, and testing
·  Demonstrated strong mechanical design fundamentals
·  Experience with design, validation of wind turbine mechanical components
·  Experience on power generation products
·  Exposure to Product Life Cycle Management processes & tools, hardware ownership
·  Experience with Ansys and NX design software
