Role Summary/Purpose

The Staff Mechanical Component Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. The position involves the design and development of external tubing, manifolds, bracketry, and wiring harnesses. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Essential Responsibilities

·  The responsibilities of the position include design, analysis, manufacturing support, assembly / test support, and overall project management

·  Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements

·  Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and contract commitments and coordinate required resources across the organization

·  Provide technical leadership and mentoring to personnel / cross functional teams supporting the assigned projects

·  Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization

·  Lead technical reviews and participate as a reviewer

·  Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriate

·  Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

·  Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college

·  A minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering position

Desired Characteristics

·  Strong mechanical design background / aptitude

·  Proficiency with design tools including Unigraphics (or other solid modeling package), ANSYS or ANSYS Workbench

·  Experience executing/leading structural analyses, high cycle fatigue analyses, modal analyses, harmonic analyses, or acoustic analyses

·  Demonstrated ability to independently lead / execute engineering design projects

·  Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance to others

·  Successful execution of simultaneous technical, cost and schedule responsibilities

·  Mechanical design experience with tubes / ducts / manifolds / hoses or fluid systems

·  Demonstrated ability to authoritatively communicate technical material with internal / external customers

·  Ability to leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes
·  Strong
teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
