Role Summary/Purpose

Responsible for operational engineering of a set of services and infrastructure, in a variety of technical environments, including local, Predix and AWS. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. Mentors junior talent.
Essential Responsibilities

• Automates tasks related to environment management 
• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.  
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members. 
• Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices. 

• Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project. 
• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems. 

• Promotes availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency by proactively sharing impact of software design choices on system operations.  
• Understands operating systems and networks and the tools used to diagnose problems and validate solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent
• Strong professional experience

Desired Characteristics

The role involves managing local and cloud environments, for applications developed in the Budapest center. 

Experience is strongly desired with the following technologies: 
• shell scripting 
• general scripting (python, ruby or similar) 
• Infrastructure automation (chef, puppet, ansible, terraform and similar) 
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider's technology stack (preferably AWS)
