Role Summary/Purpose
We are taking on the world’s biggest challenges through innovative software solutions. You will work with a group of energized software professionals in a highly collaborative environment to build next generation diagnostic imaging visualization applications used by Radiologists, Cardiologists, and various clinicians. You will be responsible for programming a feature or a small feature set and will contribute to the team, taking direction from management but working independently.
Essential Responsibilities
In this role you will:
· Have awareness of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring and Testing Techniques.
· Ability to write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
· Understand performance parameters and can assess application performance.
· Understand core data structures and algorithms and has the ability to implement them using language of choice.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
· A minimum of 0-2 years of professional experience
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
· Must be willing to work out of an office located in Chicago, IL
Desired Characteristics
Technical Expertise:
· Comfortable in building features such as web services and Queries on existing tables.
· Aware of Methods and practices such as Lean/Agile/XP, etc. May have prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory training on Lean/Agile. Aware of and able to apply continuous integration (CI).
· Operates with general understanding of the impacts of technology choice to the software development life cycle.
· Experience in software platform, advanced applications (web), user- interface design and systems engineering
· Experience in java script framework (Angular, Websocket, WebGL/Canvas, RequireJS) and HTML5 technologies
· Experience working in enterprise java programming language
· Experience building APIs and services using RESTful, SOAP etc.
· Experience with Scrum/Agile development Methodologies using BDD.
· Experience with Windows and Unix / Linux based programming
· Experience developing web applications (Spring, JAX-WS, Web Services)
· Experience with front-end technologies such as CSS, BackboneJS, EmberJS, KnockoutJS
· Experience with database tools (JPA, Hibernate,JDBC, Spring Data)
· Experience with rules engines (Camel, Drools, JRules) & modern tooling (Gradle, Collaborator, Maven, Git, SVN)
· Experience developing application using .net C# programming language
· Experience developing application on Cloud platform (Azure, AWS, Docker Containerization)
· Experience working on software projects in the Healthcare domain (DICOM/HL7/IHE)
· Experience working on automation framework (SpecFlow, JBehave, Selenium)
