Role Summary/Purpose

The SWEAP is the premier technical internship/co-op program at GE Digital, offering an opportunity to those with a passion for software craftsmanship to hone their development skills over a semester. You will lead by doing – gaining real-world, hands-on experience by working on high-impact and challenging projects alongside some of the brightest technical mentors in the industry.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Unique paid apprenticeship program, providing students with real-world software development work experience and intensive software industry training to supplement the academic curriculum.

·  Continuous learning, development, and the opportunity to collaborate (in-person and over email, phone, and video) with software professionals on global development teams

·  A head start into the world of professional software development patterns and practices.

·  Experience working with enterprise software development tools (e.g., version control, bug tracking, release management, etc.)
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

·  Working towards a Bachelors or Degree in CIS, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security, ITM, Informatics, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, MIS, Security and Risk Analysis or relevant STEM majors with experience in Software or IT experience or have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in similar areas.

·  Minimum Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or equivalent.

·  Must be able to work at least 12 hrs/wk during the school year (around class schedules) and during the summer. Must not exceed 19 hrs/wk.

Eligibility Requirements

·  Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification, and background check.

·  Must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

·  Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

·  This position is located in New Orleans, LA at the University of New Orleans and does not offer relocation.
