Role Summary/Purpose

The GE Healthcare Imaging Guidance Solution business is looking for a Software Engineer to work on exciting projects that will have a positive impact on patient outcomes. The Software Engineer will have responsibilities for developing a feature or a feature set and for enhancing the infrastructure used to configure, calibrate, diagnose, develop, and test software. The Software Engineer will contribute to the team and will work with direction from management but will also work independently.
Essential Responsibilities

Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Act as a member of the Software team, representing the face of high quality design and development practices, working closely with cross-functional teams in understanding customer needs, collecting requirements, designing & implementing software, and driving feature integration.
• Interact with GEHC cross-modality teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms
• Develop high performing, scaling and innovative end-to-end applications
• Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
• Writes codes that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
• Build features such as web services and embedded control
• Understand performance parameters and assess application performance
• Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using language of choice

Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
5. Perform continuous improvement activities by implementing process and product quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
2. A minimum of 1 year of professional experience (include technical skill)
3. Experience in object oriented design methodology and various programming languages, such as Java or C++
4. Understand Software development cycle and automated testing

• Experience developing Android or IOS applications
• Experience with front-end technologies such as Javascript, HTML5, CSS, Angular, NodeJS
• Experience with modern devOps tools, such as Git, Rally.

• Make basic technology choices based on experience
• Demonstrate awareness about competitors and industry

Leadership:
• Take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
