Role Summary/Purpose

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting and improving product and process compliance to regulatory, technical, and quality systems requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Quality Engineer, you will:

·  Ensure regulatory agency audits and inspections
·  Ensure compliance of product validation and verification activities
·  Develop / implement process and product compliance mechanisms, including the implementation of quality software tools, pproduct and process development, implementation, improvement and control
·  Provide technical support and guidance to product development, sourcing, and operations teams to ensure and improve product and process quality
·  Lead sourcing and operations cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, effective processes, in conformance with global and local procedures
·  Lead root cause analysis and work with cross-functional organizations to implement effective corrective actions
·  Through Preventative Action management, lead continuous product and process quality improvements, and demonstrate compliance during internal and external audit / inspection opportunities
·  Participate in the development of product specifications, focusing on measurable quality attributes and performance indicators, and assist product development teams to develop a specification set that meets program objectives and that can be validated
·  Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) projects in areas of test, validation requirements, regulatory requirements, specification development, measurable outcomes, and other quality activities necessary to meet project objectives
·  Supervise an hourly team of inspectors
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Ceramics
Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited
university or college
·  Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or another technical environment
Desired Characteristics

·  Well-grounded understanding of the ISO Quality System requirements
·  Experience with design controls and/or design verification, supplier quality, and validation
·  Proficient in the use of appropriate cause analysis tools and techniques, such as root cause analysis, fishbone diagrams, FMEA, DOE, ANOVA, Cpk, etc.
·  Strong process improvement mindset with demonstrated experience with or knowledge of product quality improvement tools. such as Six Sigma, DFR, etc.
·  Experience with the practical application of fundamental quality problem solving and improvement concepts, methodologies, and tools
·  Skills in auditing, including conducting audits, documenting findings, tracking corrective / preventive actions, validating corrective / preventive actions, and closure
·  Ability to interface with top organizational leadership, and internal and external customers, responding in a professional manner
·  Prior experience using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
·  Adaptable / Flexible
·  Open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
·  Strong technical aptitude (i.e., ability to read / comprehend technical documentation, ability to comprehend / execute procedures, demonstrated understanding of system documentation)

·  Ability to work in a remote team environment
·  Demonstrated ownership for assigned projects
·  Effective at multi-tasking (i.e., handling competing priorities)
