Role Summary/Purpose

Actively contribute to QA strategy and execute various testing activities related to functional and non-functional requirements. Execution excellence in Test automation of REST services using Soap UI and performance/load testing using Jmeter in an inclusive way by collaborating with other scrum team members and product owners on test strategy, analysis of results and drive a constructive discussion towards resolutions to deliver quality outcome.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Participate and take lead in product functional and non-functional requirements discussions with product owners and devise test strategy to deliver quality outcomes. 
·  Demonstrates increasing expertise in application domain and functional areas.  
·  Execute functional, system, regression, and performance testing activities, analyze and report test results to product teams and drive resolution
·  Develop automated test cases for REST services using Soap UI/equivalent tool and contribute to enhance the automation test framework to execute regression suites.
·  Develop performance test scripts using Jmeter, simulate load scenarios, execute and analyze to find out the optimal performance and break points of the system.
·  Work closely with the development team to analyze, debug, and resolve issues.
·  Works independently and delivers testing and use case creation which meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
·  Writes effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified and tests remain valid when code is refactored.
·  Begins to collaborate with development team in bugs fixing and build plans.
·  Collaborates with Quality Leaders in creating test plans.
·  Implements and configures testing tools and at times help junior staff.
·  Implements system-level integration testing.
·  Applies principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical degree.
·  Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing
·  Experience in working with distributed systems testing.
·  2+ years of experience in API testing and automation ( web service testing using Soap UI preferable )
·  Knowledge on PL/SQL queries
·  2+ years of experience on performance testing with Jmeter.
·  Availability and willingness to travel, as required.
·  Clarity and precision in verbal and written communication
Desired Characteristics

·  Familiarity with software development life cycles and agile programming methodologies.
·  Knowledge on Selenium testing frameworks is a plus.
·  Knowledge on Protractor is a plus.
·  Knowledge on OWASP and experience in security testing/tools knowledge.
·  Deep understanding of large, complex, software systems to help isolate and reproduce defects, and assess risk.
·  Experience/awareness on Test/behavior driven development frameworks.
·  Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills.
·  Ability to learn new skills
