Role Summary/Purpose

She/He will assist the Global Business Controller of Offshore Wind in all its activities including management of closing operations, accounting operations & controllership.

Le/La titulaire du poste aura pour mission d’assister le/la Contrôleur(euse) Financier(ère) Monde de la branche Offshore Wind dans toutes ses activités : la gestion des opérations de clôture, des opérations comptables et du contrôle financier.
Essential Responsibilities

This role will specifically entail a focus on policy setting and technical accounting matters. This will include the need to write policies, memos substantiating accounting positions in compliance with US GAAP.
The individual should also be ready to drive adherence to the policies through training and enforcement. Finally, as Assistant Controller this role will entail representing at times the Global Controller in various governance cycles or stepping into regional controllers’ roles as needs emerge.
Essential Responsibilities The primary responsibilities are as follows:
‒ Become the “go to person” on policy matters to advise the operational finance teams and beyond to ensure business compliance with accounting standards. Run the technical accounting matters log for Offshore.
‒ Ensure that financial reporting when it comes to project matters is accurate and truly reflects the business situation. This will involve quarterly to gather all the required information and then share it with REN HQ Controllership.
‒ Coordinate closing schedule between business finance and IT systems. Coordinate monthly closing project with REN HQ.
‒ Be the point of contact specifically on asset valuation matters to ensure the analysis performed by the operational finance teams is accurate and substantiated to the highest standard.
‒ Beyond the above, the role will entail more ad-hoc deliverables based on the Controllership annual G&Os and have typically included in the past: rolling out new Corporate policies, back-testing policies and amending them accordingly, building risk mitigation plans.

Il/Elle mettra notamment l’accent sur la définition des politiques et les questions techniques comptables. Il s’agira notamment de rédiger des politiques, des notes justifiant les positions comptables en conformité avec les normes comptables américaines GAAP.
Le/La candidat(e) retenu(e) doit également être prêt(e) à promouvoir et à favoriser le respect des politiques à travers la formation et l’application. Enfin, en tant qu’Assistant(e) Contrôle, il/elle devra représenter parfois le/la Contrôleur(euse) Monde dans différents cycles de gouvernance ou intervenir dans les missions des contrôleurs régionaux en fonction des besoins.

Les principales responsabilités liées à ce poste sont les suivantes :

‒ Jouer le rôle de référent(e) pour les questions politiques, à savoir conseiller les équipes financières opérationnelles, et au-delà, assurer la conformité de la branche aux normes comptables ; tenir le journal des questions techniques comptables pour le segment Offshore
‒ Veiller à ce que le reporting financier concernant les différents aspects liés aux projets soit précis et reflète véritablement la situation de la branche ; il s’agira, chaque trimestre, de rassembler toutes les informations nécessaires et de les communiquer ensuite au service Contrôle Financier du siège de GE REN
‒ Assurer la coordination du calendrier de clôture entre les systèmes financiers et les systèmes informatiques de la branche ; coordonner le projet de clôture mensuelle avec le siège de la branche REN
‒ Être l’interlocuteur(trice) principal(e) notamment pour les questions liées à la valorisation des actifs afin de garantir que l’analyse effectuée par les équipes financières opérationnelles est exacte et basée sur les normes les plus strictes
‒ Mener ponctuellement d’autres opérations basées sur les objectifs annuels en matière de contrôle financier par rapport à l’année précédente : déployer de nouvelles politiques d’entreprise, vérifier a posteriori les politiques et les modifier en conséquence, élaborer des plans de limitation des risques
Qualifications/Requirements

This role will require at a minimum an individual that has the following skills :
‒ Bachelor degree. Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in finance or accounting field.
‒ Strong knowledge of US GAAP will be preferred in particular the accounting for long term construction projects.
‒ Capacity to conceptualize issues and think “out of the box” to find solutions, to drive the organization to the next level of accounting excellence.
‒ Strong Influential leadership, having a track record of leading initiatives and building relationships in a global organization would be strongly beneficial
‒ Can demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with non-finance staff.
‒ The ability work in a strongly multicultural environment.
‒ SAP / Oracle / HFM experience

‒ BAC+5 ; au moins 5 à 8 ans d’expérience dans la finance ou la comptabilité
‒ Connaissances approfondies des normes comptables américaines GAAP appréciées, en particulier la comptabilité pour des projets de construction à long terme
‒ Capacité à conceptualiser les problèmes et à remettre en question les solutions existantes au profit de nouvelles solutions créatives, afin d’amener l’organisation à un niveau supérieur en matière d’excellence comptable
‒ De solides capacités d’encadrement et d’influence avec une expérience en matière de supervision d’initiatives et d’établissement de relations au sein d’une organisation internationale sont souhaitables
‒ Excellentes compétences de communication, tant à l’écrit qu’à l’oral, et aptitude à travailler de manière interfonctionnelle avec du personnel non financier
‒ Capacité à travailler dans un environnement fortement multiculturel
‒ Expérience des systèmes SAP/Oracle/HFM

‒ Sound communication skills: able to understand the importance of words in a sensitive environment and being able to adapt its speech its audience, while being fact based and concise.
‒ French language skills highly desirable
