Role Summary/Purpose

The Material Handler will pull, receive, store, issue and ship components and/or finished products within and outside facility. We currently have openings for the position on 2nd Shift, working from 2:18PM-10:18PM.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Perform basic tasks relative to material handling in various stages of manufacturing including but not limited to receiving, storing, kitting, counting, bagging, tagging, packing and shipping of materials
·  Validate counts and paperwork including reconciliation of discrepant counts
·  Order and manage supplies
·  Interpret, investigate and take action on transactions inquires and messages on computer application, Oracle
·  Validate inventory accuracy via cycle count mechanism including reconciliation of discrepant counts, recommending procedure changes to improve accuracy
·  Manual transfer of material between projects
·  Maintain and file source documents in a timely manner to support the inventory control process
·  Release kits to picking and production floor (Stockroom)
·  Provide training and mentoring for other employees as required
·  Perform picks up and delivery as required
·  Issue back orders and floor shortages to production departments (Stockroom)
·  Utilize MRP systems for material transactions and data entry in a timely manner
·  Perform other routine procedures within fairly similar situations resulting in standardized but not identical outcomes
·  Utilize written or visual instructions based on standard operating procedures
·  Provide written and/or oral communications concerning a variety of situations
·  Perform basic maintenance on foam packing machine (Shipping)
·  Access customer/carrier portals (Shipping)
·  Assist in physical inventory counts
·  Keep workstation, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly manner
·  Understand and comply with all Company, safety rules and regulations
·  Engage and participate in a self-directed teaming environment

Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma or GED
·  1-3 years of manufacturing experience
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
·  Ability and willingness to work second shift
·  Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Oracle
·  Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
·  Must be willing to stand for long periods of time
·  Basic mathematical counting skills
·  Possess dexterity skills as well as good hand and eye coordination
·  Ability and willingness to work overtime as required
Desired Characteristics

·  Minimum of 1 year of experience within the aviation industry
·  Experience working in stockroom, shipping or receiving functions
·  Experience in a manufacturing environment
·  Must have the sense of urgency to meet critical demand
·  Ability to communicate and work well with others
·  Ability to interface with customers and suppliers in a professional, business manner on the
·  phone and through e-mail
·  Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
·  Proficient in the use of a computer to navigate necessary operating systems
·  Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment
·  Conscientious of safe and quality work practices
