As the Valves Manufacturing Quality Inspector for Stafford, you will be responsible for assessing manufacturing quality compliance within the HVDC and FACTS manufacturing facility in Stafford.

This will involve coordinating with the Production teams to conduct final inspection activities, conduct sample inspection activities throughout production to verify compliance to standards and perform production auditing, to manage reported defects to product or process through NCR process and to support Continuous Improvement for the department.

The role would be supported with temporary Quality inspector personnel to supplement resources when production capacity dictates.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial callipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometres, gauges, etc.) as required within department. 
  • Perform final quality inspection and to perform Incoming inspection.
  • Utilise manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality of products.
  • Perform visual & dimensional inspections and set area management of the parts.
  • Ensure quality of parts meet specification requirements. 
  • Prevent non-conforming parts from proceeding to the next workstation.
  • Collect data, feedback on the quality of parts inspected to the Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers
  • Identify and document non-conforming parts.
  • Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to
  • Quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes. Includes conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
  • Facilitate Meetings with Business Line for Process and Supplier Quality Issues and Improvements
  • Coordinate with Production and quality teams to verify compliance on a sampling basis.
  • Develop new and existing procedures to support activities and implement lean initiatives.
  • Work with team members to find creative solutions to address complex problems.
  • Investigate defects and coordinate with Engineering and supplier quality engineers to manage rework/scrap/investigation as necessary.
  • Perform and support internal quality audits.
  • Lean and continuous improvement project delivery
  • Manage calibration schedule and repair/maintenance of inspection equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree with demonstrated on the job experience / related work experience in Quality or Manufacturing environment or In depth experience related work experience in Quality or Manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience with CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) management essential.
  • Experience in using manual and automated measurement and test equipment for dimensional inspection activities.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment essential.
  • Experience in Problem Solving methodologies (A3, 8D, etc)
