Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Security Engineer will support the development of
architecture, design, and implementation of systems security solutions. This
will include secure web services, access control mechanisms for data and
services, key management, end-point identification and authentication, and
secure logging. 

Essential Responsibilities

The successful candidate will also support the use of secure software development practices and help establish work practices for code and analysis to minimize vulnerabilities. The Lead Security Engineer will also support the establishment of testing methodologies to ensure the deliver of a secure product, and product updates.

In this role, you will:

·  Work with Engineering Leadership, Project and Business managers to develop security
·  Support development of system security architecture, selection and implementation of security
·  Support SW design reviews to evaluate soundness of implementations, to avoid security
·  Support the establishment of secure coding practices and software security analysis
·  Support the establishment of security testing methodologies, Provide business representation on industry partner and regulatory working
·  Work as part of a cross-functional team to establish security designs and protocols into practical ans scalable implementations for commercially viable products and services
·  Generate reports, annotated code and other projects artifacts to document, archive and communicate your work, methods, findings, and hypotheses with stakeholders
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree with a preference in a STEM major
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
·  3+ years security engineering experience in a
commercial/industrial
·  Knowledge of security protocols and standards
·  Experience with distributed and cloud-based software
system
·  Experience with one or more modern programming
languages such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, C/C++
·  Experience working in teams
·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Ge may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there si a shortage of individuals with a particular skill set
·  Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigations and drug screen
·  Must be willing to travel at least 10%
·  Must be willing to work out of an office located in Boston, MA 

Desired Characteristics

Desired Experience:

·  Master’s in Computer Science, Technology Engineering,
or Mathematics Discipline (preferred but flexible)
·  Knowledge
of secure system design methodology including threat modeling
·  Knowledge
of software security analysis techniques include SAST (static application
security testing), DAST (dynamic application security testing), penetration testing 
·  Experience developing security mechanisms for
software systems
·  Experience testing systems for vulnerabilities
·  Experience with cryptographic protocols
·  Experience with communication and presenting to a project/program leadership
·  Comfortable working in ambiguous and dynamic environments.
