Role Summary/Purpose

The Lead Engineer will develop controls technologies to provide substantial improvements in performance, thermal management, power offtake, and PHM. Focus will be on identification and evaluation of advanced concepts, recommendations to our USG customers, maturation of selected technologies, and application to advanced engines. Key outcomes include continued customer funding for maturation efforts and game-changing controls technologies so our new product offerings are the compelling choice.
Essential Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In the role of Lead Engineer, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

In this role, the Lead Engineer may be Controls focal point for selected technologies and may perform team leadership with contractors, GRC, non-Controls contributors, and less experienced Controls personnel.

In addition, as the Lead Engineer, you will :

·  Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

·  Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project

·  Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures

·  Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

·  Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues

·  Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

·  Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Masters Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in an engineering position

·  OR

·  Bachelor€ Degree of Science from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in an engineering position

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

·  This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

·  Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance
Desired Characteristics

·  Existing government security clearance

·  3 years experience with control systems integration (Including Experience with computer-based control systems and real-time software development for control of physical systems)

·  Experience with requirements documentation and analysis
,li>Experience with development and running of NPSS aerothermal models

·  Familiarity with Model Based Design

·  Familiarity with the following tools: DOORS, SCADE, & IBM Change / Synergy
