Role Summary/Purpose

This position will install Control Systems at customer locations. This may include removal of old controls equipment and replacing equipment with upgrades.
Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Field Services Technician - Commissioning - HRLY, you will:

·  Be responsible for Installation of Control System to Customer specifications at customer locations

·  Create appropriate documentation when needed

·  Interact with internal and external customers as needed

·  Accept independent responsibility for compliance to Environment, Health and Safety

·  Read, understand, and follow detailed drawings, schematics, assembly drawings, customer specifications and assembly procedures

·  Be responsible for quality control inspection of work and products during testing and completion of test

·  Trouble shoot hydraulic, electric and mechanical schematics

·  Provide support and backup of other services personnel, be involved in establishing and achieving team goals while respecting the feelings, needs and varying viewpoints of others

·  Be required to document and communicate by using a computer

·  Interface daily with internal and external customers to meet business objectives and external customer requirements

·  Develop and improve testing processes, written procedures and checklists

·  Be required to follow all business policies and procedures

·  Ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations – onshore and offshore locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care
Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution

·  Minimum 2 years’ of direct experience with Automation & Controls or Automation & Controls Installation

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Travel both internationally and domestically 50%, as required

·  Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required

·  Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities

·  Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required

·  Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

·  Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time

·  To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record

·  Undergo Periodic fitness for duty tests, examinations, and/or certifications will be required for onshore/offshore remote location assignments

·  Must Possess or be able to obtain a valid US Passport
Desired Characteristics

·  Minimum 1 year experience using /reading technical drawings, schematics

·  Minimum 2 years of experience in testing electrical control systems

·  Associate degree in Computer Science /HMI/Server/Network/Electronic Engineering

·  Basic knowledge of Prime Mover theory of operation

·  Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic theory

·  Basic knowledge and theory of hydraulic, pneumatic systems and mechanical principles

·  Basic knowledge of high-pressure gas/hydraulic systems and/or electromagnetic and/or prime mover theory of operation

·  Basic knowledge of PLC programing

·  Ability to apply systematic problem solving techniques

·  Ability to read and understand basic types of documentation

·  Ability to learn and be proficient at various software packages

·  Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

·  Effective under changing conditions and with different tasks, responsibilities and people

·  Sets high goals for attendance and on-time performance for self and team members

·  Requires one to be self-motivated in learning and development of their skills

·  Attention to detail

·  Ensures accuracy of tasks and processes to maintain consistent quality of outputs

·  Good computer skills, keyboarding/data entry knowledge
