Role Summary/Purpose

As an Embedded Software Engineer in the Land Constrained Hub Subsystem team, you will be at the forefront of wind turbine technology and systems design in GE Renewable Energy Onshore Wind. You will influence wind turbine product development and oversee the development of pitch control systems from concept to implementation.

Essential Responsibilities

You will demonstrate technical accountability for wind turbine pitch software and control in the hub subsystem on the global onshore wind turbine platform. You will drive to identify key risks and subsequent mitigation plans. You will lead new product introduction programs and support the growing fleet of GE wind turbines.

As the Embedded Software Engineer - Wind Turbine Pitch System, you will:

·  Design, validate, troubleshoot, and maintain wind turbine pitch system software and PCBA embedded software
·  Support design and development of the wind turbine pitch system architecture
·  Support design and development of wind turbine pitch system printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA)
·  Lead customer design-to-order features, new product and new technology introduction, as well as conversions, modifications, and upgrades for pitch system software
·  Develop and maintain pitch software release and documentation processes
·  Support installation and troubleshooting in both factory test stand and field settings
·  Resolve field issues and provide technical support to product service engineers
·  Work within a multi-disciplinary team of electrical, mechanical, power system, controls, and PCBA engineers
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited college or university
·  Desired Characteristics

·  C and C++ language experience in an embedded environment
·  Real time Unix-based operating system experience
·  Software configuration management tool experience
·  Process or motion controls experience
·  Lab instrumentation experience, including meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
·  Experience with motor control and power conversion design
·  Assembly language and circuit design experience
·  FPGA programming experience
·  MATLAB / Simulink experience
·  Strong oral and written communication skills
·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
·  Self-starter with drive towards technical excellence
·  Ability to work in a matrix team environment
·  Proven track record of technical project leadership
·  Willingness and ability to travel 10% per year
