Role Summary/Purpose

Act as Configuration Manager for assigned engine programs in the engineering design change process. Work on team to define next generation design process that will allow GE Aviation to achieve its priorities. Give guidance to the engineering team on CCM-1 and provide feedback and coaching to facilitate the smooth development of design changes.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Understand and be able to apply and explain the requirements in CCM-1

·  Understand how data is stored in the Official Repository of Engineering Data

·  Perform data analysis to determine what events caused invalid data changes

·  Determine root cause of issues and help to define short and long-term fixes

·  Participate on team to define a set of processes and technologies that control changes to product definition for Engineering, Manufacturing & Services

·  Participate in the deployment and training for the new design process

·  Ability to understand the needs of the customer to guide their application of CCM-1
·  If their proposal does not meet CCM-1 requirements, be able to explain why it does not

·  Be a mentor to other CM team members. Explain CCM-1, give advice on processes and procedures, explaining what organizations need to be consulted for their expertise (e.g. Product Support for Config Charts, Manufacturing for Intro point, etc.)

·  Have knowledge of Engineering Standards

·  Be a troubleshooter

·  Be willing to take on projects as required and lead the CM team through projects

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Electrical engineering from an accredited university or college (Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Engineering, Design, Processing, Operations and/or related field)

·  5 years of experience in an engineering position / environment

·  EPEX / BPP / eCID process experience

·  Experience working across organizations
