Role Summary/Purpose

The Infrastructure Architect is expected to deliver IT Infrastructure Engineering (mainly system and networking activities) on different projects in parallel, and also work in conjunction with a project engineering team based in Romania and abroad, aimed to successfully support the global solutions delivered by the regional project teams.
Essential Responsibilities

The Staff Infrastructure Architect role is an integral part of project teams responsible for delivering best-in-class services, development and project delivery of technical solutions and consultancy to key customer accounts, within the various regions of GE Grid Software Solutions.

·  This position will be located in the Massy Office and is part of a team distributed in two main sites in Bucharest and in France.

·  Reporting to the team manager located in France in a dutiful and coherent manner.

·  Act as a business developer towards the internal teams and/or stakeholders, while also ensuring quality of deliverables;

·  Work with technical experts and end users to understand business requirements and identify infrastructure solutions.

·  Participate in the translation of architecture documents into design and configuration specifications.

·  Lead in the areas of Red Hat Linux technologies and products, providing subject matter expertise. Good experience on Microsoft Windows Server is also needed.

·  Networking skills are needed: L2/L3

·  Develop and maintain detailed technical knowledge of the specifications, operation, and diagnostics of products while maintaining familiarity with competing products.

·  Monitor, troubleshoot, administer and systems tuning (operating systems & hardware)

·  Perform upgrades and testing for systems hardware, software and third-party tools

·  Perform system management activities including backup management, storage management and system sizing and patch management.

·  Participate in project planning, requirement gathering, development, testing, implementation, training and support when needed.

L’Architecte Infrastructure du personnel fait partie intégrante des équipes projets en charge de livrer des services d’excellence, et de développer et livrer des projets en termes de solutions et de conseils techniques aux comptes clients importants, au sein des différentes régions de GE Grid Software Solutions

·  Le/La titulaire de ce poste sera basé(e) à Massy et fera partie d’une équipe répartie sur deux sites principaux à Bucarest et en France

·  Il/Elle travaille de manière consciencieuse et cohérente sous la supervision du responsable de l’équipe en France

·  Assurer le développement opérationnel auprès des équipes internes et/ou des parties prenantes, tout en veillant à la qualité des livrables

·  Collaborer avec des experts techniques et des utilisateurs finaux pour comprendre les exigences opérationnelles et identifier des solutions d'infrastructure

·  Participer à la traduction des documents d’architecture en spécifications de conception et de configuration

·  Jouer le rôle de superviseur dans le domaine des technologies et produits Red Hat Linux, en apportant son expertise en la matière ; une bonne expérience de Microsoft Windows Server est également nécessaire

·  Compétences de création de réseaux : L2/L3

·  Développer et entretenir des connaissances techniques détaillées en matière de spécifications, d’opérations et de diagnostics des produits tout en se tenant informé sur les produits concurrents

·  Superviser, dépanner, administrer et ajuster les systèmes (systèmes d’exploitation et matériel)

·  Réaliser des mises à niveau et des tests sur le matériel, les logiciels et les outils tiers

·  Réaliser des activités de gestion du système, et notamment la gestion des sauvegardes, des espaces de stockage, du dimensionnement des systèmes et des correctifs

·  Participer à la planification du projet, au recueil des exigences, au développement, au test et à l’implémentation des systèmes, ainsi qu’à la formation et à l’assistance, si nécessaire

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Fluent English speaker

·  Degree or Diploma in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience

·  Proven track record of problem analysis, identification and resolution

·  Flexibility to travel to customer sites when required

·  Excellent communication skills, commitment, discipline, positive attitude, following management prioritization, accountability and flexibility

·  Customer facing experience is mandatory.

·  Strong communicator able to juggle multi-tasking in a high-pressure environment

·  Highly motivated, credible, self-starting, a sense of urgency, a bias to action, good judgment, level headed under pressure – focused on outcomes for the customer and GE

·  Ability to apply advanced aspects of technical/engineering area to practical business problems

·  Excellent infrastructure design and implementation knowledge.

·  Significant experience with Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server.

·  Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server.

·  Extended knowledge of Active Directory Group Policies.

·  Extended knowledge on infrastructure security and best practices.

·  Strong networking skills.

·  Strong knowledge of storage area networks.

·  Strong knowledge of both classic server/client and hypervisor backup solutions.

·  Strong understanding of ITIL and change management policies and procedures.

·  Anglais courant

·  BAC+3 ou diplôme en informatique et/ou expérience équivalente

·  Capacité avérée à analyser, identifier et résoudre les problèmes

·  Mobilité : déplacements sur le site du client, le cas échéant

·  Excellentes compétences de communication, sens de l’engagement, rigueur, attitude positive, respect de la hiérarchisation de la gestion, sens des responsabilités et adaptabilité

·  Expérience du contact direct avec le client obligatoire

·  Excellentes aptitudes à communiquer ; capacité à gérer plusieurs tâches dans un environnement stressant

·  Expérience significative de Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server

·  Solide expérience de Microsoft Windows Server

·  Connaissance approfondie des politiques de groupes Active Directory

·  Connaissances approfondies en matière de sécurité et de bonnes pratiques liées à l’infrastructure

·  Solides compétences en matière de création de réseaux

·  Connaissance approfondie des réseaux SAN (storage area networks)

·  Connaissance approfondie des solutions de sauvegarde classiques serveur/client et hyperviseur

·  Bonne compréhension des outils ITIL et des politiques et procédures de gestion du changement
