Role Summary/Purpose

·  Design and produce competitive offers for SCADA system tenders in Europe / Africa region

·  Design an produce competitive offers for industrial internet systems
Essential Responsibilities

·  To design, describe, and defend competitive Technical and cost-optimized SCADA offers in the Europe / Africa region (60%)

·  To design, describe, and defend competitive Technical and cost-optimized Industrial internet / big data offers in the Europe / Africa region (40%)

·  To support other units as necessary (and, in particular, Dubai, and Sao Paulo)

·  To understand customer functional requirements, business cases and constraints

·  To suggest innovative solution based on GE technologies’ (e-terra for SCADA, Predix for industrial internet)

·  To drive excellence and suggests improvements and new ideas: listen and suggest

·  To establish architectures that meet best practice in terms of cyber security

·  To translate customer requirements into a solution; and propose the best technical/cost solution

·  To abide by all internal validation processes and suppress risks of deviation (technical or financial) during project

Note: Typical architecture include fully redundant 3 to 20 rack mounted servers, several operating systems, Oracle, MS SQL or equivalent, SAN, virtual machines, several security layers separated by firewalls, production, simulation, and staging environments, but a limited (5 to 20) number of users at a time

Measurement:

·  Cost of proposed HW/SW solution while meeting minimal requirements defined with commercial and sales manager

·  Level of innovation in particular pertaining to Industrial Internet systems

·  Competitiveness of offers

·  Quality of the offers produced

·  Capacity to convince both internally and externally of the soundness of proposed solution

·  Feedback from Operations and customer
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Master in Engineering or equivalent

·  Strong experience in the same domain

·  Basic knowledge of SCADA systems (purpose, protocols, and principles: redundancy, reliability, security)

·  Knowledge of hardware characteristics and licensing schemes

·  Knowledge of open source world

·  Knowledge of database vendors (Oracle, MS SQL, Postgre Cassandra, MariaDB, etc.) and how they size

·  Knowledge of cloud principles (security, data feed)

·  Knowledge of web services and SOA

·  Virtualization, SAN, Cyber security basic principles, system backup solutions…

·  Good knowledge or experience with real time systems (e.g. SCADA, embedded software…)

·  English and French skills

·  Capacity to work under strong time pressure

·  Capacity to convince, and writing skills

·  Knowledge of electrical grids, or electrical engineering background

·  Knowledge or experience in Industrial Internet (Internet of Things)

·  Experience as data scientist
Desired Characteristics

·  Knowledge of GE, business, competition

·  Knowledge of e-terra, GE’s SCADA solution for electrical network/water/gas

·  Knowledge of Predix, GE’s cloud platform for the industrial internet

·  Experience of design or building of secured and complex IT systems

·  International experience of working with other cultures

·  Basic knowledge of commercial and financial constraints

·  Basic knowledge planning and project development

·  Other languages (and Spanish/Portuguese in particular)

·  Geographical mobility (a few days once or twice a year)
