Role Summary/Purpose
We are looking for an Accumulation Technician to add to the Houston Service Center’s Gate 2 team. This position will be located in Houston, TX, reporting directly to the Accumulation Operations Leader. This person will handle all transfers of material, kits, and supplies in supporting weekly engine output commitments. Will be expected to perform any assigned accumulation task as determined by daily requirements for the role.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Accumulation Technician you will:
· Perform roles and responsibilities of the Material Handler classification
· Maintain received WIP inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in stock; recording location of inventory
· Accumulate and process parts to ensure configuration accuracy and engine on time delivery
· Document materials disposition by recording parts delivered and location of parts
· Troubleshoot material related issues to include interaction with cross-functional teams
· Support material activities and problem solving through advanced usage of Oracle, Shop Floor Management
· (SFM) and Smartsheet
· Ability to interpret Illustrated Parts Breakdownooks, smart shop, Service Bulletins. Oracle and SFM systems
· Coordinate and track parts credit returns and reallocations
· Collect data, run reports, track, and communicate status daily
· Perform material-handling equipment pre-use inspections for safe operation and delivery
· Responsible for ordering and receiving of material required to meet committed engine build date
· Assist in the annual plant wide physical inventory
· Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager
· Train new employees as required
· Be highly organized, have a great attention to detail, and excellent communication and follow-up skills. This person will oversee any material-related issues, focus on EHS and oversee logistics and warehouse activities
Qualifications/Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED
· Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse, stockroom or storage yard
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 40 pounds
· Ability to operate a forklift over 15,000 pounds
Desired Characteristics
· Previous Material Handling experience
· English languageExcellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills in English
· Advanced computer skills (Oracle, SFM or another warehouse management system and MS Excel)
· Be able to read Illustrated Parts BreakdownBooks (IPB),.Work-scope, and Service and Product Bulletins
· Great attention to detail while working to a deadline
· Self-starter, positive attitude, work well with others, and strive to implement continuous improvement projects
· The ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload
· The ability to perform job duties with a sense of urgency and focused on safety
· Certified to operate a forkliftoperate forklift or ability to be certified under GE standards
· Certified in crane and rigging operations
· Minimum one year experience with barcode scanners
· Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and / or Six Sigma Training
