Gemalto M2M (Machine To Machine) designs highly innovative wireless modules according to GSM, WCDMA, UMTS and LTE standards. One important property of these revolutionary products has to be excellent performance and robustness for operation in an industrial, automotive and a lot of other customer's M2M applications.

To ensure leadership grow and outstanding product quality, Gemalto wants to increase global M2M team by organizing new development center in Prague.

As a Hardware Radio Frequency Design Engineer you will design, develop and debug the sub circuits of our products. Working on full life-cycle product development, meaning from the specification, first bring-up until mass production including the maintenance and troubleshooting of field returns.

A week in the life of

a RF Design Engineer:

• Specification of HW/RF design, sub circuits from system level specifications, reference designs under consideration of industrial and automotive standards.
• You will design and verify the module on system level and board level with focus on TX and RX design, front end circuits, power amplifiers, frequency generation.
• You will lead qualification efforts for the designs incl. draft qualification plans for board-level and system-level tests.
• You will troubleshoot cross functional problems, interactions between RF, HW, SW, manufacturing and application issues.
• You will be interface with component suppliers to specify and evaluate components according to automotive and industrial requirements.

Desired profile

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• To do this job, you must have strong technical background in RF hardware and product development over a full lifecycle with automotive or industrial background.
• You must have the experience in RX/TX designs, power amplifier or front end designs with focus on mobile chipsets e.g. Qualcomm, Intel, etc.
• You must have analytical skills and the ability to bring-up new ideas, solving a problem reasonably.
• We would appreciate if you have deep knowledge on the air interface specification according GSM, WCDMA, GSM, GNSS, UMTS, LTE.
• You need to be fluent in English
• We would like someone to join our team who is organized, self-motivated, self-directed, good in documents creation, able to work independently and who is open to work in international teams.
• You need to have a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• We are looking for someone with 5 years of experience.
