Network Engineer

Job description

Responsible for the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of the cloud services network, including routers, switches, firewalls, and customer VPN turn-ups, you will provide technical support to the Safenet SAS environments and teams with regard to the network.

You will act as a liaison with vendors and other third-party providers. Collaborates with team members locally or virtually in remote states or countries, and will be responsible for coordination and communication directly with customers from order placement to service turn up, including post support.

Position requires strong communication skills required for interfacing with global customers on a daily basis.

Position is directly supporting both production and test environments while maintaining guaranteed 99.999% uptime.

A week in the life of a Cloud Services Network Engineer
· You will be responsible for the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrade of the SAS Datacenter network, customer VPN configurations, and customer configuration troubleshooting,
· You will performs moderate to complex engineering, implementation and maintenance tasks on the network under minimal supervision,
· You will be responsible for the on-going assessment, upgrade of networks, and recommendations for environmental enhancements,
· You will be responsible for mentoring and training of junior staff and team members,
· You will collect and analyze data network statistics,
· You will search, evaluate and recommend hardware and software,
· You will troubleshoot network problems.

Qualifications :

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
·  To do this job, you must have Knowledge of Cisco Firewalls and Switches, understanding of network security, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures.
·  You need to have Experience with load balancing technologies including Barracuda and/or F5, Data Center (E.g. can run and reconfigure patch cables in an organized manner). Experience working with service providers and WAN configurations is also needed.
·  DDoS, IPS, and Security appliance experience a plus, knowledge of CheckPoint firewalls, CCNA and/or CCNP would be a plus .
·  We would like someone to join our team with strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written), and experience supporting high availability applications and environments. We need you to be able to effectively communicate issues and resolutions, to multitask and work well independently.
·  You need to have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience can be substituted for degree.
·  We are looking for someone with 3+ years network engineering experience with strong technical troubleshooting abilities.
