EY’s Financial Services Organization (FSO) is an industry-focused business unit that provides a broad range of integrated services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants. Within the FSO, our Software Application Development offering provides core technology transformation and technology strategy enablement focusing on digital, robotics, Internet of Things, cybersecurity and blockchain. As part of this team, you’ll join a number of talented individuals who have deep industry, product and client knowledge.

The opportunity

As an Associate Analyst, you’ll be based at our newly opened Service Delivery Center (SDC) in Alpharetta, GA, or Jacksonville, FL, which is made up of high-performing US-based resources who work closely with our experienced Advisory professionals to deliver work to our Financial Services clients. Here, you’ll be solving complex problems for our clients in the software application development space, as well as providing valuable advice and thought leadership. What to expect

As part of our Software Application Development team, you’re likely to balance your time between multiple projects and responsibilities across software integration, configuration and data to see how your components fit into the big picture solution. Day to day, you’ll participate in an agile methodology development, attend calls, help design requirements, flag technical limitations, test units and fix bugs according to defects so you can learn how to architect better software. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performance and high-quality team that delivers projects on time and on budget. You’ll receive hand-on experience that will build your confidence to nurture relationships with our clients and think creatively on how to solve their problems.

Your key responsibilities

·  Working with clients to deliver technology transformations in the way they process and deliver their services within the organization and to consumers
·  Providing hands-on development of applications across the enterprise, digital and portals, user interface and design, core processing, data analytics and storage
·  Participating in all the phases of the software development life cycle in an agile/scrum development environment, which supports incremental development of high-quality, fully tested application component delivery
·  Working with business organizations to solve their most complex technology issues

To qualify for the role you must have

·  A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology
·  A strong academic record
·  Proficiency in Java, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
·  A solid understanding of object-oriented programming
·  Proficiency writing reusable Java libraries
·  Skill in SQL
·  Familiarity with concepts of MVC, JDBC and RESTful
·  Familiarity with Java GUI frameworks, such as Swing
·  Familiarity with AngularJS, jQuery and HTML5
·  Knack for writing clean, readable Java code
·  Familiarity with both external and embedded databases
·  Knowledge of creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
·  Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
·  A driver’s license valid in the US
