Job Summary:

Assurance Risk Analytics is an internal analytics group, which helps the leaders of the US Assurance practice of EY enhance quality and effectiveness of the Firm’s audit work. The Assurance Risk Analytics group is a function within the Professional Practice group 

As an Assurance Risk Project Supervising Associate, you will help drive the use of analytics, to support the goals of the Professional Practice of EY in the US. You will work with all members of the team, but will mainly support the data management function. Responsible for a portfolio of moderate complexity projects or programs where operations, process and technology enablement knowledge is required to develop solutions and solve business problems (i.e. increasing cost effectiveness, minimizing statutory risks, enhancing quality of service provided, deploying new technology and/or processes, etc.). Position may be responsible for planning, executing or deploying moderate complexity projects and/or programs. May have some resources and budget responsibility.
 
Essential Functions of the Job:
·  Utilizes audit knowledge to provide guidance and shape team’s deliverables
·  Ensure data is updated based on the latest market information.
·  Leverage detail knowledge of the data to supervise production and validation of reports for key stakeholders ensuring accuracy and consistency
·  Responsible for a portfolio of moderate complexity projects, including new technology/process deployments and continuous improvement initiatives
·  Creates and develops project/program scope and schedules. Plans and assigns resources to associated tasks and deliverables as appropriate. May participate in the development and management of the budget
·  Develops and applies knowledge of resources, communication and cost management to projects/programs.
·  Analyzes workflow of operations to identify well thought out suggestions for improvement
·  Facilities solutions across project/program measurements, including the ability to do effective process analysis, report quality results, and work with operations to drive improvements
·  Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus; communicates issues and status reports to supervisor and/or stakeholders
·  Provides input into the allocation of resources to meet changing project/program needs
·  Develop procedures and coordinates activities within project/program team, including possible vendor management. This may include working directly with suppliers – both internal and external
·  Acts as a peer advisor or mentor to other team members

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

·  Responsible for moderate complexity projects that require the ability to create and implement timelines related to project deliverables, assign tasks and follow up on their completion and manage sponsor/customer expectations of the outcome of the deliverable
·  Understands the firm’s business, organizational structure and operations
·  Applies strong process and technology enablement knowledge to analyses and problem solving with moderate complexity
·  Monitors project/program plans to make certain that activities and deliverables are occurring as planned
·  Identifies points of contention for missed deliverables and creates strategy to mitigate shortfalls in the timeline that missed or unexpected deliverables may create
·  Makes/presents recommendations to mid to high level management on solutions and influences decisions
·  Manages own portfolio of work; delegates tasks, as needed

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

·  Two to three years of auditing experience at a Big 7 firm
·  In-depth experience and knowledge of project management practices and tools
·  Strong written and verbal communications skills
·  Ability to assert own ideas and influence other to gain support and commitment for shared projects
·  Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
·  Basic SQL knowledge (preferred)
·  Developing knowledge of change management principles
·  Strong presentation skills
·  Strong analytical skills to grasp complexities and perceive relationships among problems and issues
·  Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities

Supervision Responsibilities:

·  Works independently with minimal guidance
·  Prioritizes own deadlines; delegates tasks to others
·  Escalates complex issues with recommendations to project sponsors and/or leadership
·  May provide coaching/development and direction to other less experienced team members
·  May provide daily supervision to team members, including setting priorities and providing ongoing feedback

Other Requirements:

·  Working hours, flexible work arrangements and time off may be limited during specific times or deadlines
·  Travel unlikely
·  Extended hours, as needed to meet deadlines
Education:
·  Bachelor’s degree and equivalent work experience in Accounting
·  Master’s degree in Accounting (or 150 credits) preferred
Experience:
·  3+ years of auditing experience
Certification Requirements:
·  CPA is desirable
