Position Summary

As an electronics hardware engineer you will develop and maintain Ericsson’s world leading microwave mobile backhaul products. You will be a valued hardware team member and get the opportunity to drive activities such as requirement analysis, design, simulation, integration, verification, production support, product lifecycle management and documentation. The team is autonomous, highly motivated and consists of five to seven experienced and skilled developers that together have the full hardware responsible for several MINI-LINK products. Within the hardware domain you will get lots of opportunities to participate in competence development and gain personal growth.

The increasing complexity of today’s and future networks require flexible and well-integrated microwave nodes for mobile backhaul. Building an efficient operator grade microwave backhaul network with end-to-end performance in mind, requires high node capacity, compact and modular building practice, cost obsession and features that respond to demanding customer needs.

As part of the Ericsson Radio system MINI-LINK is a powerful and cost-efficient network node fulfilling the requirements of the mobile broadband evolution, including 5G.

You will be part of a high performing organization that works with agile methodology in cross functional teams. Our teams drive the evolution of the Mobile Backhaul products from analysis, design and verification including deployment and release in customer networks.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Typical responsibilities and common tasks for a hardware team member

·  Electrical engineering of analog designs ranging from 0 – 80 GHz
·  Electrical engineering of low and high speed digital designs
·  Integration of components such as baseband, DSP, FPGA, CPU and, Ethernet Switch
·  PCB schematics design in Cadence and PCB layout support
·  Verification of circuit boards and products in well-equipped labs
·  Integration of circuit boards with in-house developed software and mechanics
·  Python scripting for product and instrumentation control
·  Hand-over of products to production and provide production support
·  Troubleshooting, root cause analysis and customer support
·  Requirement handling and design documentation
·  Hardware quality assurance and follow-up
·  Drive continuous improvements and innovation of products and processes

Position Qualifications

Core competences for a hardware team member

·  Passionate about analog and digital electronics design
·  Experience of instrumentation such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, oscilloscope, and power supplies.
·  A true team player that enjoys working in teams
·  Good communications skills both verbal and written (English)
·  Fast learner that easily adapt and respond to change
·  Lean and Agile understanding
·  Innovative mindset and focus on delivering high quality results

Qualifications for the position

·  Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar
·  Since we are targeting newly graduates for this position a maximum of approximately one year of experience is preferred
