Position Summary

The User Experience Designer improves the usability, ease of use and pleasure customers derive from using ENGIE Insight products. They will leverage research captured from a user-centered design process to create wireframes and prototypes that provide business value and an optimal experience for our customers. The User Experience Designer collaborates with product management and ultimately provides engineering with the resources they need to turn prototypes into fully functioning products.  

Role Description

• Lead a user-centered research and design process that includes user research, personas, context scenarios, rapid prototyping, and user testing where appropriate
• Working closely with users, product management, marketing and the software team to make sure the best possible user experience is delivered to our users
• Verbally and graphically communicating designs, decisions and reasoning with clarity, data and confidence
• Develop and promote UI design guidelines, style guides, best practices and standards
• Effectively articulate design intentions and rationale to the product and engineering teams
• Other duties as directed

Role Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Advanced knowledge of wireframing/prototyping tools
• Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Sketch
• Solid grasp of user centered design and usability testing methodologies
• Comprehensive knowledge of web application UI design patterns and best-practices2+ years of relevant experience designing a complex B2B SaaS product
• Technical depth of understanding deep enough to fluently converse with developers.
• Expertise in design, implementation, & maintenance of enterprise applications is required
• Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrumand ability to quickly and efficiently iterate designs and prototypes
• Deep intuition for usability, but a willingness to conduct user interviews and usability studies and let go of your instincts when proven incorrect
• Ability to analyze product performance based on behavioral data from web analytics tools, e.g. Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.
• Ability to build strong working relationships and work with distributed teams
• Uncompromising integrity and ethical standards
• Driven, decisive, and an unrelenting desire to challenge the status quo
