We are looking for a Market Risk Analyst (H/F) located in Paris to join our team
in charge of the market risk on the gas asset management and commercial trading and origination perimeters.

What will be your role
The Market Risk Analyst manages all processes linked to market risk analysis for his/her entire scope of responsibility.
The Market Risk Analyst also has a role of consultant and facilitator via his/her analysis of all issues linked to market risks.

 

Main Activities
- Monitoring risk exposures versus limits, communicating drivers of risk exposure and limit utilizations to Front Office , Risk and Finance stakeholders
- Developing and improving risk framework, metrics and reporting tools
- Understanding the market risk profile of the products, strategies and portfolios of the perimeter you are responsible for as well as reporting and communicating them to senior management during risk committees
- Coordinating and preparing analyses of risk limits increases when necessary
- Participating with the other teams (risk, support or FO) in analyses to develop or launch activities
- Assist with project management, coordinating with various stakeholders
- Maintaining and developing an efficient market risk mechanism in line with GEM’s standards

Internal & External Collaboration: Fosters close links and cooperation with the Front Office teams, the Department’s other teams, others B.U. within the Group ENGIE, the Group risk monitoring.

The Market Risk Analyst may be called upon to work on cross-cutting issues and cases within the Risk Department and within GEM BU.

Your profile

Experience
• Master in Finance or Quantitative field preferred
• 2/3 + years industry experience with finance, markets or risk focus
• Good knowledge of Physical Gas asset in particular
• Knowledge of commodities will be a plus

Technical knowledge
• A good understanding of risk measurement and energy markets and how these can be applied to create robust controls in a trading business
• Familiarity with structured transactions
• A first experience in projects from inception to delivery
• Advanced excel knowledge required
• Experience with VBA required
• Other programming languages is a strong plus

Behavioral skills
• Strong analytical skills, problem -solving mindset
• Ability to communicate complex issues to stakeholders, both written and verbally, in a clear concise manner
• Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work effectively in a global team setting, in a deadline orientated environment
