About the role:

The role assumes responsibility for accounting for the corporate holding companies, other than International Power Ltd. and to deal with all monthly accounting that is required for those companies.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

·  Deliver high-quality accounting services so that the reported results are robust and reliable;
·  Maintaining accounting records in accordance with ENGIE accounting policies and IFRSs;
·  Maintaining the accounting ledgers for companies using SAP up to trial balance including foreign currency translation, monthly taxation and deferred taxation calculations, and other transactions associated with corporate holding companies;
·  Working with Group Treasury to ensure bank postings are correct, suspense accounts are cleared, bank reconciliations are completed and cash-flow forecasts are produced as necessary.
·  Reporting on a monthly basis into SMART including detailed analysis of all intra group movements and any quarterly, half yearly or annual additional schedules;
·  Preparation of management accounts to a high standard in accordance with FRS 101 or other local GAAP so that the statutory accounts can be prepared easily and the audits can progress smoothly;
·  Dealing with external auditors on all queries raised on the primary books and records during the audit process;
·  Accountability for timely statutory accounts preparation;
·  Assisting the IP tax team with any queries they may have in the submission of the tax returns;
·  Maintaining internal controls and appropriate segregation of duties, meeting INCOME and internal control requirements;
·  To provide support to the ongoing development of processes and procedures within the IP team;
·  To develop SAP and other tools to ensure system is fit for purpose; and
·  To work on continuous improvement projects, taking ownership of particular workstreams and ensuring on time delivery against agreed timescales.

 

Key requirements:

·  Experience in managing key business and client relationships;
·  Good technical knowledge and accounting skills, in IFRSs and UK law;
·  Ability to develop and apply internal control frameworks;
·  Excellent planning and administration skills;
·  Well-developed influencing and communication skills;
·  Project/programme management skills;
·  Experience in challenging the status quo and fostering an innovative mindset within teams.

 

Qualifications:

·  Part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
