  WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE

Organization

GASAM is GEM’s division in charge of ENGIE’s European Gas Assets to maximize their value on gas markets and supply the different entities in charge of gas marketing within GEM

 

The Short Term Gas & Services teams are responsible within GASAM for scheduling, dispatching, balancing and optimizing ENGIE and affiliates gas portfolios round the clock, seven days a week. With the strong expansion of Europe’s spot gas market, new opportunities and challenges have arisen for the department. To extract the highest value from this evolution and in line with the ROAD gas project, Short Term Gas has decided to move towards a fully service-oriented model.

 

Gas Delivery and Operation participate to Short Term activities together with Asset Management and Delivery Oversights. These two teams manage the delivery of gas and the asset optimization on the European network.

Main activities

Gas Delivery and Operation participate to Short Term activities together with Asset Management and Delivery Oversights. These two teams manage the delivery of gas and the asset optimization on the European network in very close collaboration. 

 

In your team your main tasks will be the following :

 

•  Within-Day Optimization of the Gas Portfolio 

- Dealing on within-day gas markets during office hours for the optimization and balancing of ENGIE - Portfolio in close relation with shift dispatchers and trading desks

- Put in place trading strategies to maximize gas portfolio value within operating constraints

 

•  Delivery and performance reporting

- Give a feedback to Short Term Gas & Services clients and book realized values

- Report on the performances and P&L done by the team 

- Ensure the follow up of incidents.

       

•  Transversal digital project

Participation in transversal digital projects to improve performance, efficiency and reliability of Short Term Gas services. 

 

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

Education & professional background 

· 
Engineering School or University Master’s degree : sciences, economics or comparable studies.

· 
First experience in an international energy trading company (Front-office, Operations, Middle-office, Back-office, IT)

·  3 to 5 years experience. More confirmed profiles will be also considered.

Technical & Business skills 

·  Knowledge in gas European business (contracts, balancing, markets
·  Understanding of trading activities.
·  Appetite for IS and Digital  

 

Behavioral skills 

·  Team player with good social skills
·  Resilient to stress : ability to operate in a sometimes stressful environment
·  Ability to develop quickly :
·  thorough knowledge of the relevant gas grids contracts and regulatory regimes
·  experience of relevant physical operating rules on gas markets
·  analysis skills to make quick and good decisions to solve operational incidents

Quick judgment : Ability to investigate and to understand complex setups
