Accounting Intern

Purpose
Responsible for supporting ENGIE Canada’s accounting and financial reporting team in the development of documenting the business processes, project development and assist in audit co-ordination.

Location
Markham, Canada


Essential Functions
·  Analyze AR and AP processes and document them accordingly
·  Assist in providing invoices and supporting documents for external auditors
·  Support the accounting and financial reporting team for ad-hoc projects and analysis
·  Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements
·  Demonstrate basic knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
·  Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel and Word), detail oriented and able to work accurately on multiple assignments on a timely basis. 
·  Ability to work independently in a demanding changing environment and remain flexible on priorities
·  Comply with all ENGIE policies and procedures

Education /Experience

·  Completed 2-3 years of a post-secondary degree with major in Accounting and Finance.
·  Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
·  Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both written and verbally.
·  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite include but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook
