YOUR MISSION
As part of the North American SSD Indirect Spend team, the primary purpose of this position is to manage the Capex Investment and Industrial Services for Danone North America. Involvement and/or leadership of cross-country business units projects is also to be expected
The position will be based in Danone's Canada head quarters in Boucherville, Quebec, with flexibility to travel across North America for 20% to 40% of work days.
- Update/Create, maintain and animate clear tools to track the performance of the Capex and Industrial Services sourcing team of North America.
The tools include but not limited to:
- Capex
- Industrial Services
- Participate and implement sourcing strategies for Capex and Industrial Services categories (Process, Packaging Equipments and services, Building and utilties)
- Collaborate and implement the sourcing strategies for respective Categories;
- Support growth through identification and implementation of adapted partnership with retained suppliers, to improve both the Capex and Industrial services proposition;
- Create internal / external synergies through identifying opportunities and maximizing the value chain (TCO) from upstream supply locations through to internal / external production sites through to customers;
- Facilitate and drive sourcing decisions through development and implementation of appropriate tools and processes;
- Define sourcing strategy through market studies to identify best practices, identify gaps, risks and opportunities as well as to identify new suppliers and develop a robust supplier base.
- Supplier and Contract Management
- Develop and launch RFQs / RFPs (request for quotation/proposal) to select suppliers in targeted categories;
- Analyze the proposals and make recommendations to key internal stake holders;
- Negotiate with the suppliers the quality, time and cost of service as well as other commercial terms and conditions.
- Draft contracts. Lead contract ratification activities, assuring interaction with supplier and Legal teams;
- Manage suppliers to ensure business needs are met and maintain Supplier Relationship Management to improve suppliers performance;
- Develop and implement performance indicators monitor suppliers and support continuous improvement.
- Project Management
- The chosen candidate will lead productivity projects by respecting the budgets / schedules / quality standards of Danone, using the appropriate tools;
- Participate in Global initiatives led by Group Danone to implement Cost out and Value generation for the business and through projects;
- Monitor, review and communicate projects status (with respect to contractual commitments of the supplier);
- Anticipate and alert key stake holders in case of non-compliance with the contractual commitments;
Develop a sustainable process between the country business unit (CBU) and Suppliers teams with a focus on delivering key operations objectives.
- Supplier Evaluation
- Evaluate and manage the global performance of supply chain & contract manufacturing & repacking suppliers;
- Define the objectives of improvement of performance and the necessary action plans;
- Manage the implementation of action plans.
- Budget & Productivity Management
- Manage overall spend for Capex & Indstrial Services spend;
- Establish the budget, track variances and manage risks for respective area through work with Finance, Engineering and Industrial stakeholders;
- Identify new projects to create Cost Out Value In (COVI) opportunities, validate with finance, seek and attain buy-in for these projects, build budget with other functions, realize and track the productivities on a monthly basis.
YOUR PROFILE
- Master Degree in Business, Operations Management or a related field of study such as Engineering;
- Understanding in the maintenance or plant management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, multi-cultural, matrix environment;
- People management: the individual must demonstrate future capability of cross-functional / peer to peer leadership through coaching and stewardship;
- Proactive: anticipates issues/opportunities & can work through multiple simultaneous projects;
- Rigorous data analysis capability and financial acumen;
- Ability to develop and implement strategic sustainable initiatives, and lead change by engaging people;
- Language: English + French mandatory & Spanish an asset;
- Comfortable in facing paradoxes or contradictions with resilience and tenacity;
- Good knowledge of MS Office and database;
- Ability to work in SAP, Micro Strategy;
- Availability to travel to the US punctually
