CDD Post Doc Nutrition Scientist- Palaiseau H/F

· Term of Position: 6 months
Main tasks
· State of the science evaluation and recommendation on the use and development of an electronic device for the collection of food and drink data.
· Assistance with the set up and management of dietary studies, and the analysis of dietary data.
Requirements
The ideal applicant should have the following:
PhD in nutrition or related discipline (or Masters Degree in nutrition or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years experience).
Essential requirements:
· Strong skills in quantitative dietary assessment techniques and experience in the collection and interpretation of dietary intake data. Experience collecting and processing food records, 24-hour dietary recalls and/or food frequency questionnaires including data cleaning, data management and data analysis.
· Experience using dietary software to code dietary data and an understanding of software strengths and limitations.
· Experience conducting evaluations, ideally related to technology or computer based software.
· Proven ability to develop and make recommendations at a senior management level, taking into account business and scientific needs.
· Demonstrated knowledge of the food repertoire and dietary habits in a range of different countries (e.g. France, African countries, US, Germany, Russia).
· Demonstrated experience of working with food composition databases from different countries, and an understanding of their strengths and limitations.
· Demonstrated ability to design, co-ordinate and manage research or epidemiological studies in complex and challenging environments (from design through to publication of results).
· Experience developing fieldwork documents and training fieldworkers on the collection of dietary data.
· Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate at different levels and in different environments, including meetings and conferences.
· Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, with a wide variety of stakeholders.
· Mature and motivated, ability to work alone and with others, pro-active attitude. Ability to meet deadlines.
· Good spoken and written English mandatory.
Desirable requirements:
· Experience using statistical software tools or packages e.g. R, Matlab, SAS, SPSS, STATA and experience interpreting output from statistical software.
· Previous employment experience in food industry.
