Job description

Data about financial instruments traded on market exchanges all over the world is crucial information needed by every bank in their daily work. It is viewed analyzed and processed by many other bank departments and has significant influence on the bank's strategic decisions. Providing robust and efficient systems for collecting, verifying and making that data available for the entire bank is essential.

You will be working on the strategic core system for processing instrument reference data. Your role will include writing technical specification based on business requirements (changing existing functionality or add new features) and implement / test them. All of this will be carried out in close collaboration with the Swiss development team.

· Highlight the selling points of the role, using appropriate language (e.g. ‘opportunity to personally influence the Bank's strategy on …').

Desired profile

·  Outstanding Oracle DB knowledge – advanced DBA skills (tuning, configuration, data extraction).
·  Solid OCI interface experience – programming skills / SQL.
·  Sound C++ knowledge.
·  Experience with multithreading programing, transaction handling, performance tuning.
·  Linux and scripting languages (shell, perl) desirable.
·  Familiarity with middleware WebSphere MQ, JMS, (DB2 desirable).
·  Java knowledge desirable (JDBC)Highly motivated with outstanding analytical skills.
·  Fluency in English required, German a plus.
·  Sound knowledge about design patterns.
·  Out-of-the-box thinking to provide innovative solutions and ideas.
·  Flexibility, a proactive approach, sense of responsibility, and perseverance.
·  Excellent ability to work collaboratively in a distributed, diverse team and across cultures in a global environment.
