The Competence Center Data Science is a cross-functional team of specialists with the task to do research into data science and advanced analytics for the research and development of tires. As a Data Scientist you represent the IT organization in the Competence Center and assure a close cooperation between the department and the IT. In cooperation you build models, methods and applications to support the development of new products and business services.

Job description:

·  Design of prediction models and forecast applications to support the worldwide development of tires

·  Editing data for the analysis from central systems and unstructured sources

·  Industrialize analytical models into productive applications

·  Project work with colleagues from different departments

·  Coordination of external IT service provider

·  Establish the necessary IT services in cooperation with Tire and Corporate IT

·  Development of concepts and processes to ensure data quality

·  Support and training of Key-User

Desired profile

Job Requirements

·  Degree (Masters/ PhD) in computer science, data science, mathematics or equivalent studies

·  Several years of work experience in data scientist or similar field

·  Experience with tools like R, Matlab, Rapidminer, KNIME

·  Knowledge in handling large amount of data with Data Warehouse Systems or Hadoop

·  Proficiency in one or more programming language, for example Python or Java

·  Understanding of software development and implementation processes

·  Fluent in English (written and spoken)

·  Strong communication and moderation skills
