Engine System Business Unit provides system solutions for internal combustion engines, turbochargers, exhaust gas after-treatment, and electrification.
Context of the mission (team working, international relation…)
For the Engine System Business Unit, we are looking for a System technical project leader to support our business in Japan.
Goal of VIE’s request for company international development
VIE will make technical and cultural link with Europe lead locations. VIE will notably play role on projects with International Japanese OEMs.
Detail of the mission (tasks)
- Define the system engineering master plan and track progress (review/approve activities, validate reports, update actual maturity level, etc.)
- Define the schedule for achievement of components technical requirements that have System or Sub-system impacts on the project (ECU, injector, pump or other functionally relevant components even outside of the Engine Systems business unit).
- Lead/organize Technical Synchronization Board, and decide requirements management for new solutions (or significant evolution of current solution): includes simulation, patents analyze, acceptance criteria, etc.
- Track and manage requirements engineering
- Deliver to customer validated technical system (final authorization for technical system release) for intermediate, serial, or post production releases
- Assure the availability of test facilities/tools in alignment with the system engineering master plan (engine, vehicle, HIL, etc.)
- Develop technically competent relationship and trusted partnership with the technical community of the customer
- Use the standardized processes, methods and tools within scope of responsibility (e.g. IMS-MKS, MS-Project, Project risk list...)
Qualification required (profile, languages…)
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering. Preferred background: Automotive or combustion engines. (Missing degree may be substituted by long-term experience in this work area.)
- TOEIC > 700 (not needed if the candidate has enough experience with English environment)
- Minimum 3 years experience in automotive business. (OEM, Supplier or engineering service provider)
- Good experience in the development of engine management systems for diesel or gasoline
- Good experience about diesel or gasoline combustion
- Good experience about SW/ function architecture of diesel or gasoline engine management systems
- Fuel injection system knowhow
Qualification preferred
- Japanese JLPT N5 or more (ideally N2)
- Practice in Calibration tasks (Emission, Performance, Hot/Cold/Altitude Environment)
- Worked in two finished engine system engineering projects from start of development to launch.
- Experience in implicit leadership (i.e. leading teams without disciplinary entitlement).
- Sub-project leadership experience (e.g. as a function pilot, calibration pilot or software technical leader)
- Worked in an internationally distributed engineering environments.
- Experience in Engine control Functions development
- Ideally graduated from IFP (Institut Francais du Petrole / French Petroleum Institute) or ENSPM (Ecole Nationale du Petrole et des Moteurs)
