Systems Engineer- Monitoring Tools Command Centre

Position Description
Responsible for the L1 administration of all complex server farms. Provide medium level of technical advice on Server Administration and management.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• As an Operations Engineer you will be responsible for the complete production control environment and their related batch processing including backups.
• Daily Operating System /Application alert handling and response/troubleshoot/reassigning to correct group
• Adherence to customer established SLA's Troubleshoot the alerts based on the work instructions.
• To co-ordinate with the appropriate teams for resolution.
• Daily health checks of the Application supported.
• Periodic and timely updating of tickets with proper log comments Documents; tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution Improves system performance by identifying problems and recommend changes Criteria.
• Provides support to customers with a high degree of customer service; quality and technical expertise
• Daily BAU L1 Support on Windows/UNIX/Telecoms/Application infrastructure Ownership of alerts till its logical resolution.
• Should be flexible in working in 24/7 environment Good communication skills
• The role involves liaising with various support teams.
• Further responsibilities include but are not limited to.
• Liaise with local and global; internal and external stakeholders at various levels
• Provide daily; weekly and monthly statistics
• Proactively assist customers and service providers and follow-up to closure of Incidents
• Continually monitor and review Command Centre processes to enhance Service Improvement
• Prepare &Maintain Operational Issues/Risk registers
• Closely monitor the recurrence of incidents and raise problem tickets as necessary
• Maintain cross skilling matrix / skill set information for the team

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Primary Skill: Monitoring Tools
Secondary Skill: Data Centre Operations

• knowledge in Production Control; Backup Technologies and Batch Processing.
• Good process knowledge on Data Centre Operations and Batch Processing
• Excellent communication and email writing skills
• Real time experience in handling bridges/calls
• Ability to understand client issues and engage appropriate support groups quickly
• Excellent decision making skills
• Should be flexible in working under 24/7 environment
