Systems Analyst

Position Description
This is a superb opportunity to become an employee of CGI, based in Vancouver, to provide leading information technology services to our clients. We are seeking a Systems Analyst who has a minimum of 4 years of IT experience including 2 years of application maintenance in Web Portal environments.

Candidates for this position will have experience in application development and maintenance, experience with Java, relational databases and industry standard Structured Query Language.

Your future duties and responsibilities
As part of the application support team, the successful candidate will work on web and client/server based projects to deliver high quality new or enhanced systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with the business analysts to understand requirements

Interact with architects and technical leads to understand the applications

Meet with business partners to understand trouble reports

Perform smoke and regression tests to validate new releases

Confirm incidents, take full ownership and lead the team to resolve them

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
A University or College degree in Computer Science or strong qualifications as outlined in this posting

Minimum 2 years Web maintenance experience

Experience supporting complex enterprise applications

Proficient with non-functional requirements, particularly performance, speed and maintainability

Knowledge of database and data modeling

Excellent analytical/documentation skills

Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, SharePoint and Microsoft Project

Knowledge of ITIL processes, Remedy or similar ITSM ticketing system a plus

Experience using Atlassian Jira a plus

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Ability to lead and mentor others

Self-starter

Highly developed proficiency with complex, large-scale development programs

Outstanding analysis and problem solving skills to proactively and quickly address and decompose complex issues into manageable pieces

Good technical skills to understand the potential and the limitations of information technology

Ability to analyze scope, requirements and issues, and define work effort required to address

Ability to take control of issues and follow them to resolution in a highly complex, multi-stakeholder environment

Strong time-management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities within a fast paced environment

Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment

Standout colleague, able to work both in groups and independently

Outstanding written, oral and presentation communication skills

Demonstrable ability to identify with end users as well as with business analysts, developers and other systems professionals
