Security Operations Engineer

Position Description
Would you like to work for an organisation with over 40 years’ experience delivering secure, mission-critical IT solutions to Space, Defence and Intelligence clients.

CGI provides secure, mission-critical solutions to Space, Defence and Intelligence clients

CGI is now looking to expand its Advanced Threat Intelligence team either in our Reading or Bridgend Offices.

o Able to define and shape solutions which contribute, directly or as part of a wider offering, to delivering value to the client and CGI
o Ability to understand security applications and their applicability to client problems
o Able to identify relevant information and deliver an appropriate level of detail
o Able to understand the positive impact of well-delivered managed security services for clients
o Able to engage appropriately with internal and external clients

Your future duties and responsibilities
o Ownership and maintenance of security applications running on client networks
o Gathering relevant information from security applications and producing quality output for the client
o Offering first and second line support to clients on relevant security applications
o Support engineering/project teams with input to configuration and setup of security applications on new client deployments
o Continually assess and improve the processes with which managed security services are delivered to the clients

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
o Mandatory:
- Competent understanding of networking, applications, and IT infrastructure

o Highly desirable:
- Working knowledge of Vulnerability Management applications
- Working knowledge of Identity Access Management applications
- Working knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure/Crypto applications
- Working knowledge of IDS/IPS applications
