SUMMARY:

Responsible for all day-to-day Operations and Management of Inspection, Weighing and Sampling

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Other duties may be assigned)

· Receives nomination, advised weights and any special instruction from Operational Managers pertaining to incoming material requiring Inspectorate representation
· Coordinates with Refiner’s management on scheduling
· Inspection duties include but not limited to:
· Verify delivery documents match number of containers on truck
· Verify containers are in good condition; seals are intact & legible, drum lids/rings are secure, and/or bags are free of tears or holes, etc.
· Verify container identifications match documentation, lot numbers, labels, seals, etc. (confirm versus advisements and report any discrepancies to supervisor)
· Examine material; Material shape, texture, markings, magnetics, impurities are as expected (make note of any abnormalities / including notes regarding color)
· Verify certification of last linear calibration of 3rd party scale is current, record date and vendor for last scale calibration
· Verification of all scales to be employed is correct. Verify by using test weights and checked for zero prior to each weighing
· Record weights of all containers. Confirm that 3rd Party weights match Inspectorate weights (material gross, tare and net); note scale make, model, capacity and precision
· Verify received gross weights are within 99% of advised gross weights. If not, client is to be advised before proceeding
· Document any discrepancies found to be outside of agreed limits and notify Supervisor of discrepancies.
· Document any testing perform
· If grab samples are drawn, record details and insure the weight of the grab samples is credited to the client for payment purposes
· Verify all equipment to be used for processing is free from defects, impurities, abnormalities or anything that could lead to complications with the sampling process
· Confirm equipment to be used for processing has been identified and agreed to by both parties (make note of make, model and any internal identification of equipment and machinery)
· Document volume / weight of non-processed materials (materials screened for disposal or inert) and verify that screened material is catalyst free
· Confirm that only minimum required ventilation is utilized during all processes
· Verify that the bag house is clean prior to start and ensure all dusts are collected
· Verify all equipment used for processing is inspected and is free from processed materials (i.e. materials did not remain in process equipment nor carry over into bag house or other associated equipment)
· Witness 100% of processing, unless client advises otherwise
· Witness any and all blending and sampling (make notes of methods and machinery)
· Verify the client material is blended/sampled appropriately and placed into pre-tared containers
· Verify materials from floor sweeps and any clean ups are placed into the final drum only after sampling has taken place
· Witness final weighing of material and samples, ensuring that the scale readings are accurate by use of test weights
· Witness the sealing of samples for customer, umpire and reserve with Inspectorate tamper-proof evidence tape
· Confirm that all recorded weights agree with the reclaimer's records prior to leaving the premises (sub-lot weights daily and settlement weights at job completion)
· Verify measures are taken to minimize exposure of the accumulating sample to air and moisture during processing
· Confirm the sample containers are promptly sealed in a manner sufficient to prevent further moisture accumulation
· Verify that all samples are sealed and record the seal numbers
· Witness 100% of the LOI determination and verify calculations
· Dispatched samples according to instructions; use Sample Control Form for Inspectorate Lab, Sample Submittal Form for external dispatch
· Produce final Inspection, Weighing & Sampling reports (in Word) and Weight reports (in Excel)
· Send all final reports, field notes, Sample Control or Submittal forms, reclaimer paperwork and any other documentation to Ops Management
· Maintain and communicate via email the site specific Job Status Log and Invoicing Log, daily
· Adjust work schedules to meet Inspection requirements and control costs
· Deliver customer service, problem solving, corrective and preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives
· Foster customer confidence in Inspectorate’s Inspection and Analysis
· Represent Inspectorate by appearance and conduct, behave ethically at all times and ensure compliance in all policies
· Read, understand and enforce the company BMS, Safety and Ethics policies

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required

EXPERIENCE: Two years related experience and/or training

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to write, read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to clients, management and other Inspectorate employees

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding in carrying out detailed written and/or verbal instructions and deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
