Summary of position:
Responsible for trading High Yield Bonds for Natixis CIB within the authorized trading limits and delegated trader mandate. The role is market making (including risk management) specific sectors of bonds.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Responsible for sell-side trading of high yield bonds.
• Provide idea generation using fundamental and technical analysis to internal sales to facilitate discussions and potentially additional business with their respective financial advisors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with various external trading parties in order to enhance trade execution.
• Develop and execute market making and risk management strategies by analyzing latest market data both daily and longer term and manage positions to protect trading book from adverse market moves. Provide execution and color on fundamentals/technicals/sentiment/flow.
• Execute transactions accurately and in accordance with established internal procedures.
• Pricing must ensure that the Bank is adequately compensated for the level of principal risk and the amount of balance sheet it dedicates to specific transactions.
• Timely record and enter all transactions into front office trading systems in line with applicable trading procedures in effect.
• Manage trading book and client flow while making sure that applicable limits are adhered to
• Generate relative value trade ideas for investors.
• Support execution of fundamental trade ideas generated by desk strategist.
• Remain aware of economic and financial data likely to affect the market. Make efforts to remain current on market specific changes and developments, including but not limited to development of new products.
• Actively communicate market movements and news flow to other team members in order to ensure whole desk is privy to all relevant information.
• Back-up trader for other members of the team.

Required education and/or experience:
• 4+ years in the industry.
• 2-5+ years of HY market making experience.
• Undergraduate degree, preference for business, mathematics, or accounting degrees and MBAs.
• Must have sell-side experience
• Significant list of tenured investor relationships (mutual funds, insurance companies, hedge funds)
• Turn over inventory within a holding period while printing a meaningful amount of volume.
• Proven ability to generate positive P&L.
• Able to work with a team of dedicated Leveraged Credit / HY salespeople.
• Solid quantitative and analytical skills, the ability to think quickly and make sound decisions in high stress situations, as well as a passion for financial markets and a fast-paced environment, are musts.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are a must. Strong written communication is necessary; the ability to convey thoughts clearly and succinctly and to communicate pertinent complex information in a clear and organized manner.
