Role synopsis

• Build and lead a specific country and business focussed Trade Loan Analysts team

• Manage the trade loan management activity for the relevant country/business supported by the team which ensures that the requested change is aligned with BP Delegation of Authority and with the Lubes Customer Policy.

• Accountable for building capability and supporting change within the team in the drive for an operational excellence, professional business partnering & compliance

• Support via active involvement any operational tasks performed by the team members

• Coach and develop members of the team from the technical and soft skills point of view and coordinate team activities

• Accountable for the Trade Loan Analyst team and should gain a deep understanding and knowledge of Trade Loan Management processes.

• Manage the team of Trade Loan analysts who are responsable to support and lead Trade Loan Management process by calculating and evaluating Trade Loans, submitting proposals for authorisation, providing support to commercial executive, evaluating trade finance performance, and supporting the commercial evaluation.

• Ensure all the controls are in place and data received are validated by the Trade Loan Analysts as well as that the requested change is aligned with BP Delegation of Authority and with the Lubes Customer Policy.

Key accountabilities

Understand the business and drive execution:

• Accountable for managing, controlling and monitoring all trade loan activities providing accurate and timely reporting of management information

• Regular meetings with the business to be involved in the developments on the market, the business strategies, customer needs etc.

• Ensure business partnering and GBS ownership in what GBS is accountable for

Stakeholder management with: all relevant area's internal and external ensuring related issues are dealt within an effective and timely manner.

System Support and knowledge: Understand related EPR systems and support ERP enhancements and developments

Operations support:

• regular follow ups on main PPI's and their trends, take corrective actions and set cleaning plans to get back to BAU

• Ensure Monthly and Quartely reporting activities are perfomed in an accutate manner within the assigned deadlines

• Ensure high level of customer service consistent with the set KPI'S, Service Level Agreements and Customer Service function's core values

• Contribute positively to achieving individual, team and organisational targets

• Display flexibility and adaptability to work with and assist other teams within the organisation

• Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with internal and external stakeholders

• Compliance with Company Policies

• Ensure that Trade Loan proposals are compliant with BP financial guidelines and TL Policy (eg IRR, Credit Risk, NHF, DoA)

• Ensure Credit risk relating to trade investments are highlighted to Commercial Executive

• Support Commercial Executive in the adherence to Minimum Control Expectations (MCE) with respect to Trade Loans

• Responsible for monitoring Trade Loan fulfilment & periodic credit and rebate calculations where applicable, using and preparing MI to help support Commercial Executive

• Maintain the process and sign off checklist within the cluster, working with Commercial Executive to ensure compliance.

• Ensure that all Audit questions relating to the trade loan portfolio are dealt with in an appropriate manner, linking in with Commercial Executive to review.

·  Own the process for functional assurance and business sign off in accordance to the trade loan approval matrix, ensuring that this is completed as required.

Take active part in transitions by :

• Ensuring a proper and successful transition

• Liaising with BAMs and other stakeholders

Project Management involvement & support

• Active involvement in any strategic, operations or system credit/trade loan related projects

• Enable project implementations by supporting project teams and managing the own team

Operational/Strategic/Audit Compliance :

• Support and being involved in strategic target definition, implementation and delivery.

• Ensure an effective ressource management and backup structure is in place

• Ensure compliance with BP, legal and regulatory requirements applying to the department's activity like the Downstream Credit Policy, QMS/EMS Policy etc.

People

• Secure a balanced workload within the team to prevent/mitigate backlog situations etc.

• Coach and develop members of the team

• Regular team meetings to discuss BAU operations, priorities and actions

• Regular meetings with Process Lead/ODM Team Updates on all shared info (results, business needs)

• Motivation of the Team by

• implementing a positive atmosphere based on BP behaviours and values

• initiating proper team events, trainings etc.

Essential Education

• University Degree preferred (in Economics or related fields) or other Graduation in Economics (High School)

Desirable criteria and qualifications

• Able to deal with complex situations while maintaining the right balance of customer and business focus

• Able to produce consistently high quality information within tight deadlines
