Description of assignment
· To provide the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment across MET Police South East London sites
· To carry out the installation of new mechanical equipment as required i.e. minor new works, refurbishment and capital works replacement programme
· Investigate, trouble shoot and rectify defects for all mechanical systems and associated plant/components
· To maintain and carry out repairs on HVAC systems, gas appliances, steam plant/equipment, catering and all other equipment in plant rooms and other departments
· Ensure prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork
· To integrate and communicate effectively with other trade staff such as engineers particularly for electrical maintenance, new and remedial works.
· The hours for this role are 40 hours per week, 0800-1700 Monday to Friday, as well as participating in the on call rota and out of normal working hour’s activity.
Profile
· Current qualifications such as C&G, BTEC National Diploma, NVQ or similar, in a mechanical discipline
· Good communication skills, customer focused
· Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
· A proactive, flexible, can-do approach
· Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting
· Driving License essential
