We are currently looking to recruit a Requirements Management Engineer for our site in Crespin, France.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As part of the Vehicle Engineering team in charge of Product definition and performance in a project, the Requirements Management Engineer will lead the activities of requirements management, will ensure the consolidation of all applicable technical requirements (customer expectations, regulation, standards) to a specific new product to be developed, will identify their range of application, ensure the distribution and acceptance of these requirements within the organization, ensure way of demonstration is identified and will identify which design area or document has to take into account a given requirement. He/she will identify technical gaps and risks, and during the project design phase, ensure action plans are elaborated around these risks and gaps and report regular status and progress to the Engineering project team.

He/she will undertake delegated responsibilities from the Lead Vehicle Engineer to technically define, develop and lead the design areas of a rolling stock project. Also, he/she will work to establish that a complete and correct set of technical requirements are captured for the project, develop the required train architectures, concepts and design solutions and ensure these are valid and correctly integrated as to meet the technical requirements in the form of a class leading, competitive and compliant rolling stock design.

Your Tasks

- Responsible for undertaking requirement management tasks in support of developing the whole train design, support and guide project design team members, especially the Vehicle Engineers team, to ensure requirements are correctly considered, valid technical design decisions are made and that associated technical risks are identified and managed.

- Responsible for ensuring all requirements are consolidated in a project set of technical requirements, all requirements are allocated to one or several design team members, division and allocation is elaborated by adequate specialists (ex reliability or noise targets), satisfaction evidence are identified.

- Check overall consistency and correct link, alignment between design documents or design activities. Develop a risk management plan based on the potential performance gaps between expected final performance and contractual or legal obligations

- Elaborate regular reporting on the activity : Change (from an existing product) and Risk heat maps, requirements processing / management status

- Ensure correct tool set-up, define Requirement Breakdown Structure for the project, identify users.

Qualifications

Your Qualifications

- Engineering Degree and/or Chartered status, Master’s Degree desirable;
- Strong experience in requirements management preferably within the railway industry;
- Ability to read and interpret technical requirements within specifications;
- Demonstrable expertise with generally accepted concepts and procedures for requirements management;
- DOORS knowledge will be considered an asset;
- Critical attention to detail and deadlines, self-motivated;
- Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
- Excellent communication skills.
