INTERIOR BUYER (M/F)

Purpose of the role:

The Interior Buyer ensures parts availability through the production process while maintaining overall cost (and inventory, depending on allocation) at the lowest level and highest quality. Maintain daily contact with suppliers. The role has an increased complexity, due to technical aspects of parts in scope and commercial context, market conditions and other factors. There is a tendency to participate in initial project phase or in buying completely new material and evaluating risks. The buyer needs to take the full BT Procurement network into account and leverage BT’s market position.

Key responsibilities:

1. Manage purchase contracts for projects & operation within scope

· Ensures material delivery

· Analyses and monitors parts to ensure coverage to meet production schedule

· Defines purchasing strategy jointly with Operations with regard to on-time-delivery

· Initiates quantity and technical modifications

· Collaborates with other functions to ensure project success by representing Supply Management at meetings and work autonomously to resolve problems

· Assesses risk in the supply and align with Procurement Project Manager on acceptable level of risk of the project and take it into consideration for the commercial negotiation with the supplier

2. Develops supplier ‘best in class’ performance

· Maintains fluent relationship with suppliers

· Expedites suppliers to ensure delivery of purchase parts on time

· Negotiates with suppliers and issue purchase orders or entire frame contract for dedicated projects

· Administers terms and conditions with suppliers

· Designs new supplier practices from pure material delivery to extended services, like inventory management, logistics, mounting

3. Manage material cost reduction activities

· Explores continuously material cost reduction opportunities

Qualifications

Required experience:

· Diploma in Engineering or Commerce

· At least 2 years of experience in the rail industry

· Must have background in Supplier Financial risk analysis

· Must be a team player and good at negotiation skills

· Autonomy, flexibility and interpersonal skills

· Language skills: French – advanced, English – professional.
